I made a lot of mistakes without even knowing about them. Jeans are one of the most common wardrobe items. Most have at least one pair of jeans in their wardrobe. In general, I am a big fan of them, including for the reason that it is very difficult to find pants that fit well on me. But with jeans, everything is much easier. Plus I like this style.
You know, I never even thought that jeans should be washed in some special way. It seemed, well, what will happen to them, because this is a rather dense material, this is not delicate cashmere. But it turns out that the material, for all its brutality, is rather delicate.
Perhaps for many I will not discover America, but I really wanted to share a few points regarding washing. Since I myself did not know about them for a long time. Since the manufacture of brand new jeans is very harmful to the environment. Since many people want them to serve longer. If you already know all this, then I have one question. Why didn't you tell me about this earlier?))
How often should jeans be washed
Probably the correct answer is as it gets dirty. Before writing the article, I decided to call my friends and ask how they wash their jeans. Pure interest. One said that she washes them after each wear. In her understanding, they are polluted on the street by default. How long do jeans last? Yes, something is not very, they quickly stretch out, lose their appearance.
So fanatically washing jeans is definitely not worth it. They quickly lose their elasticity and general appearance.
Once I read that the founder of the Levis brand Levi Strauss advised washing jeans every 2 months. Of course, this may help jeans to last longer, but there are hardly many people willing. In my humble opinion, wash as it gets dirty. We all wear jeans in different ways, for some it is 2 weeks, for some less, for some more.
How to wash jeans properly
On the label of your jeans there will be clear instructions with the desired water temperature, drying mode, ironing. I always look at these labels, but somehow I didn't think about jeans.
Let's briefly and to the point tell you a few points, suddenly your labels are already washed white or even cut off.
Jeans DO NOT like hot water, the optimal temperature is 30 degrees or at least 40. Also, they clearly will not be happy with a strong spin, so it is better to choose a mode with a more delicate one. As for machine drying - drying at a low temperature of 60 degrees can be allowed, but ideally it is better to dry them without it.
An important point - before washing, the jeans must be turned inside out and fastened. And I even heard about it, but you know, I still didn't attach any importance! Do you always turn your jeans inside out? Write, maybe I'm not the only one.
More machine washable jeans are hand-washed, but here I go! I still remember very well the times when I washed by hand in ice water, somehow my soul does not lie in the basins. Only on special occasions, and jeans are not. It would be great if you email me how often do you handwash? I'm interested.
Can jeans be ironed? You can, if the fabric is wrinkled, then feel free to take an iron. Select a mode up to 110 degrees (single point) as indicated on the label. I have some old but favorite jeans. Knees are already pulled on them after each socks. And I don’t wash them every time, I just iron the problem areas. I hope no one will shower me with slippers.
Thanks for your time. I am very pleased to see your likes and subscriptions. Tell me, do you wash your jeans correctly? Share your favorite brands)
