Testicular microlithiasis

This is called testicular microlithiasis. That is, microscopic grains of calcium in the testes. I wanted to say that young men suffer from this case, but in fact they do not suffer. Usually, during an ultrasound examination of the testicles, for some other reason, small luminous points are accidentally found. This is calcium in thin ducts. This can be found in about 2 - 3% of men.

There, special cells live in microscopic ducts, which must protect the causal site from immune attacks and clean up various debris. If they fail, then debris accumulates, and even microscopic stones appear.

Usually, on ultrasound, they look like luminous dots with a size of 1 - 3 millimeters. If at least 5 of them were found on one side, then this is it.

These things do not hurt, and it is impossible to touch them.

Most likely there were such stones before. It was just that it was not fashionable before for any reason or without a reason to do an ultrasound. Well, ultrasound scanners have also become more abrupt.

Sometimes men with these stones have testicular cancer. It happens a thousand times less often than the stones themselves, but there is still a risk.

By themselves, the stones do not increase the risk of cancer. There must be more. Well, that is, when the guys in the military registration and enlistment office are examined for all sorts of oddities in that place, then these oddities just increase the risk of cancer. Any testicular atrophy or undescendedness. If there is something like that, then you will have to regularly examine yourself and regularly do an ultrasound.

By itself, testicular microlithiasis does not lead to testicular cancer, but if there were problems in that place (there is a whole list of them), then the risk increases.

What to do

All men are supposed to feel themselves once a month. This is the standard method for early diagnosis of testicular cancer. You need to ask the urologist about this.

If the urologist believes that there are no risk factors, then no additional ultrasound is necessary.

This calcium in the stones has nothing to do with diet or activity.

If you groped for something, then show yourself to the urologist.
