Petrov fast begins tomorrow. It will last for two weeks. What is the essence of this particular post? What are the limitations? What can you eat and drink?

The first summer post - Petrovsky, lasts this year from June 28 to July 11. It always starts a week after Trinity. This fast was established in honor of the apostles Peter and Paul and was originally called Peter and Paul. But over time, the long name was shortened by itself.

This fast is not as strict as the Easter one. It is believed that those who observe it can count on God's help in their labors.

What can and cannot be done during Peter's Lent?

The essence of any fast is not in restrictions on food, but first of all in getting closer to God. Believers pray, do not watch TV, do not swear or slander. Charity and help to those in need are encouraged during the fast. It is important these days to confess and receive communion. Try to think only about light, good things, drive away bad thoughts, envy, irritation and other negative emotions. Mentally forgive everyone you hold a grudge against.
