Many people are concerned about their nails. This is not the first time I notice how commentators are asking various knowledgeable people on the network about longitudinal lines on the nails. And they don't always get an answer.

The fact is that this alarming symptom is quite common on the Internet, but not all experts can immediately answer on this topic. The question is not easy, and in the language of experts something is spinning, which should have already been voiced, but experts doubt it. Today I decided to take the liberty and tell the whole truth from the longitudinal striation of nails.

Follow the thought. This means that the alarming longitudinal striation of the nails on the hands does not look like grooves, but, on the contrary, ridges. Low such wrinkles-ridges that run along the nail from the nail bed to the tip of the nail. This most important symptom is combined with several more signs:

  • this is noticeable on all nails, because in some diseases it is mainly the first three fingers that suffer, but here we will have all the nails in longitudinal lines;

  • the nail plates themselves on the fingers will be thinner than usual;
  • the tips of the nails will be more brittle and may exfoliate (especially if you often have to wet them and then dry them);
  • toenails (don't miss your feet!) will also be brittle and, unlike fingernails, are more likely to become thicker than usual;
  • in addition, the toenails will tend to grow in and therefore may hurt.

If you have found most of these signs, then there is no doubt about it. This is the very state about which I wanted to tell you today. It is called "age-related changes in nails." The thing is, guys, you have matured and seem to be getting older. These are the nails you should have. For some, this is more pronounced, while for others it is less noticeable. Of course, at any age there can be similar changes in nails from some kind of disease. But in the vast majority of cases, it's just age. Excuse me!
