Leader or loser: what is your child's self-esteem (TEST)

A British psychologist came up with this test to assess how a child feels in a team. What position does he occupy - in the lead or, conversely, he feels himself below the plinth.

This test, which is usually called the "Tree with Men", has been around for many years, but it does not lose its relevance. The author of the test, British psychologist Pip Wilson, created this “test tree” to help parents and educators learn how young schoolchildren have adapted to school.

The test is especially relevant for children in the first four grades: it helps to determine what a child's self-esteem is, who he feels himself to be in the class - a leader, average or “loser”. This hint will be a kind of signal if the child's self-esteem is "below the waterline", or will help balance the student if he lifts his nose too high and cannot make friends with anyone.

How to take a test with a child

In order for the child to correctly determine his position on the test tree - to see a little man who “embodies” his self-esteem - he needs to be brought up to date.

1.Look closely at the drawing. This is a forest school, and on the tree are her students, forest men.
2. You see, they all have different moods - each has its own. Each of the little men is busy with something of his own - probably his favorite thing, so each has his own place in the tree. Perhaps the higher a man climbed a tree, the higher his success in school.
3. Take brown pencil and paint on the trunk and branches of the tree.
4.Red use a pencil to paint the little man that reminds you of yourself, your mood, your place in the classroom.
5.Green use a pencil to color the forest student you would like to be on the tree in - which you would like to become.

NOTE! Sometimes children want to indicate the positions of two people at once - red or green. Allow me to do this, but note which "forest student" the child marked first, and which - second.

How to determine the results of the test "Tree"

Let's agree right away that any test gives only relative, approximate results, especially when it comes to children. However, even this result will be informative for you. So, we look at the numbers of the little people that the baby painted.
№ 1, 3, 6, 7 - the child experiences some difficulties, but he is not in despair, he is positively disposed to overcome obstacles.
№ 2, 11, 12, 18, 19 - the child wants communication and friendly support.
№ 4 - the child wants stability: he wants to be successful, a leader, but do nothing for this.
№ 5 - the child seems to be tired, he feels general weakness, shyness.
№ 9 - motivation for entertainment, not for study and overcoming difficulties.
№ 13, 21 - this is a position of detachment, isolation, anxiety.
№ 8 - a signal that it is difficult for a child within the framework of the team and the curriculum, he prefers to withdraw into himself over communication and activity in the classroom.
№ 10, 15 - comfortable condition, adaptation at a good level.
№ 14 - a state of crisis, “falling into the abyss”.
№ 20 often - overestimated self-esteem and attitude to be a leader.

NOTE! Little man № 16 children are not always aware of how a little man who carries a little man № 17. They believe that one person hugs another.

You will probably want to knowwhat type of intelligence does your child haveto find the key to your child and help him be more successful at school and in life.
