Where to relax on May holidays outside Ukraine: rating of countries open for flights with the most comfortable prices for accommodation
May holidays are just around the corner. And since quarantine in Kiev and the region, most likely, will be extended until May 10, "covid" will be added to the state days off. It's time to take a vacation from work and give up for a week to warm regions. Moreover, the price, conditions for the reception and accommodation of tourists in many countries are now very attractive. Together with the director of the SPECA travel agency Ekaterina Bilinskaya we figured out where and how much Ukrainians can fly for the May holidays.
Turkey

The high season usually starts in Turkey in early May, so getting there for the May holidays without early booking is difficult. But this year the situation has changed. Due to quarantine restrictions in many European countries and in Russia, there will be no influx of tourists to Turkish resorts. Therefore, hoteliers do not raise prices, expecting attractive conditions to lure Ukrainian tourists to half-empty hotels.
It will be comfortable for the May holidays in Turkey. Now the air in the Mediterranean part of this country has warmed up to a pleasant +26 degrees, and you can already swim in the sea on the Antalya coast (+22 degrees). When choosing a resort, pay attention to Antalya, Alanya, Side, Belek and Kemer - here the most likely to meet real summer in early spring.
Prices for accommodation in separate places at the beginning of May are quite reasonable. For a week of rest for two (with a flight), you will pay:
- Antalya coast - from 11 thous. UAH (all inclusive)
- Aegean coast - from 13 thous. UAH (all inclusive)
- Istanbul - from 17 thousand UAH (breakfast)
- Cappadocia - from 18 thousand UAH (breakfast)
Please note that to fly to Turkey, you will need a negative PLR test for Covid-19 (for adults and children over 6 years old). A visa to this country is not required, and you can get there without a passport (provided that you have an ID card).
Montenegro

Just a few days ago, Montenegro changed the rules for entering the country. Now for flight there for tourist purposes, Ukrainians do not need to be tested for Covid-19. In all other respects, the rules of entry remain unchanged: a visa is not issued, a passport is required. True, it is worth going to Montenegro in early May for sightseeing, not beach tourism. In this country now +25, so you can comfortably travel to the sights. But the water in the Adriatic Sea has so far only warmed up to +18 degrees, so frank daredevils will be able to swim on vacation. Egypt

Egypt for the May holidays is suitable for lovers of heat and unhurried beach relaxation. On the Egyptian coast of the Red Sea (namely, there are all popular resorts among Ukrainians) now +30, the weather is dry and without precipitation. The water in the open sea is the warmest, + 25-26 degrees, so even the smallest children can swim there. The prices for vacations are also quite reasonable: a week of olinklews in Sharm el-Sheikh for two starts at $ 18,000. UAH, Hurghada - from 19 thous. hrn. Cyprus

May in Cyprus is the perfect season to combine outdoor activities, beach relaxation and excursion tourism. The water temperature in the sea already reaches + 20-22 degrees, while the air warms up to +26. During the day, you can safely sunbathe, play volleyball or tennis on the beach - to get burned and overheated, you will have to try hard. And if you are not a fan of spending a lot of time on the beach, it's time to go sightseeing. May is much better suited for these purposes than the summer months.
Prices for Cyprus for the May holidays now start at $ 23,000. UAH (a week for two with two meals a day). In search of drive and energetic relaxation, go to Ayia Napa: an active "youth" movement begins there in May. But for a family vacation with children, it is better to choose the resorts of Protaras or Larnaca. To get to the island, you will need to pass two tests for Covid-19: one before the flight, and the second directly at the airport in Cyprus (costs 30 euros).
Albania

However, in early May, the weather here will definitely be comfortable: no strong winds and no precipitation. This is a great time for a beach holiday. The air temperature during the day is kept at +30, and the water in the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea reaches + 26-27 degrees. The warmest this month is in the resorts of the Boca Chica area. However, on average, the weather conditions are more or less even throughout the republic, so the choice of a resort depends only on your desire to splash in the ocean or in the sea. A week of rest in the Dominican Republic for the May holidays costs from 65 thousand rubles. UAH for two with the concept of all inclusive. The PLR test is not needed for a flight to this country, but since February of this year, each tourist must independently fill in and print the “Electronic ticket” code before departure.
Tanzania (Zanzibar)

There are precipitations, but there are not so many of them and the rains are most often short-term: they do not disturb the rest, but they very refresh the air. The air temperature during the day and at night is kept at the same level - from +26 to +28 degrees. The water is warmed up by the same amount (+27), so bathing is very comfortable, practically without drops. A trip to a tropical island in May costs from $ 53,000. UAH for two (breakfasts). No PLR test is required to enter Tanzania.
