The closest people to us after relatives are, of course, friends. They will never betray, they will always help in difficult times, give advice and even help with deeds. So Natasha thought until one unpleasant incident. Now she is sure that if her friends ask her to rent them a room or apartment, she will immediately refuse them. It doesn't matter what excuse she comes up with, but she certainly won't give up. Because the idea is bad - you can not only lose money (after all, who will take the full cost from friends), but also repairs. And you can even forget about further friendship.
Natasha and her husband divorced a long time ago, he left her a good two-room apartment, regularly paid alimony, and lived in another city. Natasha has two daughters, and still has an apartment from her deceased parents and a small house. As soon as the twin daughters entered college, they immediately moved to my father's apartment. So it was closer to them to get to school. Natasha stayed to live in the house, she had enough space, and she liked the silence in the suburbs more than the bustle of the city.
There was only one apartment left. The husband had already stopped paying alimony, but he helped the girls a little. But the needs of the daughters grew, which meant that it was necessary to come up with an additional source of income. Natasha decided to rent out her parents' apartment. There was a relatively fresh renovation, it was being prepared for sale. At first there was an idea to rent it out to couples for daily rent or business trips, but initially Natasha did not like this idea. She felt sorry for the money invested in the apartment, besides, it was somehow unpleasant to settle strangers in the parental housing. She was advised to hand over to some married couple for a long time.
Natasha called all her friends and acquaintances, looking for who would need an apartment, and found it. Her friend had been looking for affordable housing for a long time, and happily agreed.
A friend has a husband and a small child, the apartment with their parents became cramped, so they decided to look for something separate for themselves. Natasha did not draw up an agreement with the tenants, friends after all. Therefore, her friend, after a couple of days, moved in with her family into a ready-to-live apartment.
Orally, the women negotiated the rent, and the friend's family had to pay for the utility bills that go on the meter - electricity, water and gas. Natasha was very calm. She was sure that now she would have additional income, moreover, nothing would happen to her property, “her own” people lived there. For three months the tenants paid for everything on time, and everything went smoothly, but then the most interesting things began to happen.
Natasha's friend, hiding behind the crisis, stopped paying for rent altogether, she promised that soon everything would change, and the payment would be, but nothing changed. So the family just paid for the communal apartment, and that's it. From mutual acquaintances, Natasha learned that her friend had a hard time - she was fired from her job, and her husband began to drink.
Natasha was worried and decided to visit her friend. She decided that she would simply give them six months of free living in her apartment. But when she crossed the threshold of the dwelling, she almost sat down. The repair was completely ruined, there were stains and dirt all around, a terrible mess, some kind of stench ...
At first Natasha wanted to make a remark to her friend, but then she said nothing. She felt sorry for her friend, sorry for her child. But who will pity her? The debt for the apartment is rather big, now we have to do the repairs again, and we still need to raise our daughters for something. After a while, the girlfriend moved out to her parents. She divorced her husband, but her debts remained. She does not communicate with Natasha, she does not pick up the phone, so she also throws mud at her in front of her friends.
And Natasha no longer gets involved in such adventures, and does not even lend money to her friends. What would you do if you were in her place?
