The picture "Adam's Rib", filmed in 1990, in many ways became a mirror of that difficult era. The end of the 80s, a small apartment in which four generations of women live... All of them are united by a single space, but each of them has its own life. Many people revisit this sad movie because it is so much like the lives of thousands of families of that era.
I would like to consider the wardrobe of the heroines of this picture, which also reflects the strange fashion or style of the 80-90s, when many wanted to be fashionable, but there was simply not enough money for it.
The central character of the film is Nina Elizarovna, a mother of two adult daughters and a museum worker. A modest and intelligent person, but earthly passions are not alien to her either.
Inna Churikova is 46-47 years old in this film.
Several times we see her in smart blouses made of shining material. At the museum, where she works as a tour guide, she is dressed in a discreet striped suit over a blouse with a wavy collar that barely peeks out from under her jacket.
The whole image of Nina Elizarovna eloquently reminds us that there are no trifles. She winds her hair with tongs, and tries to beautifully tie a scarf over an inexpensive Bolognese coat that she wears with a hat.
It is also curious that on her date with a gentleman who suddenly fell on her, a woman no longer puts on the blouse in which she goes to work, and the dress in modern foreign fashion with the influence of sports style.
The youngest daughter, Nina Elizarovna, is a poor 15-year-old Nastya, a vocational school, who is doing an internship in a grocery store. Nastya is a rebellious, impudent teenager, no longer a girl, not yet a woman. We see her in a knitted turtleneck sweater, in a work uniform over trendy wide jeans. What is curious: for a family celebration, she dressed according to the occasion - in an elegant pink blouse with a bow.
Maria Golubkina in the picture is 16 years old.
Lida is the eldest daughter of Nina Elizarovna. A young beautiful woman in an unambiguous connection to her boss.
Svetlana Ryabova in the film 28-29 years old
Lida dresses in the "poor, but neat" style. More than once we see the heroine in a fitted beige jacket in a small cage with a simple pencil skirt and a blouse with a massive pointed collar. Discreet, but neat and appropriate for the occasion.
The blouse is the same at work and at home, but served in different ways: with a modest jacket in the office and decorated with a long chain for a holiday.
On the street, Lida wears a beret, putting it on a little to one side. Berets, in principle, were one of the most popular hats in the 80s, and not only in the USSR, but throughout the world. A white scarf peeps out from under a gloomy black coat, which refreshes the face and harmonizes with the beret.
In contrast to the heroine, we see the wife of her boss, who is dressed very simply and minimalist, but in this image there is chic and high cost. She is in an ascetic black coat and a white scarf-hood.
Her friend Marina works together with Lida, who, unlike her colleague, apparently has other possibilities, so she wears a short knitted patterned dress with fashionable high boots. In another shot, you can see massive accessories on her - earrings, beads and a bracelet. Bright makeup crowns the image of a young coquette.
The home looks of the heroines are not only patterned robes, nighties and floral pajamas, but also timeless plaid shirts. In the last frames of the film, both Lida and Nina Elizarovna are dressed in them.
