The expert told the Ukrainian parents what norms are currently in force for admission to kindergartens and schools for unvaccinated children.
Specialist of the Regional Center for the Provision of Free Secondary Legal Aid in Donetsk and Zaporozhye regions Kristina Machulyan stressed that vaccination is mandatory in our country.
Of course, we are talking only about the vaccinations included in the vaccination schedule. The list for children looks like this:
- From tuberculosis
- Polio
- From diphtheria,
- Whooping cough
- Tetanus
- Measles etc.
In total, children are vaccinated against 10 diseases; in 2022, vaccination against pneumococcus may also be made mandatory.
The law also says that children who have not received mandatory vaccinations cannot attend kindergartens or schools. There are also exceptions, for example, vaccinations were carried out, but in violation of the terms due to medical contraindications. Such a child may be allowed to go to school or kindergarten.
Since every child has the right to education, in the case of unvaccinated children this rule is realized through the choice of another form of education, distance or home, the so-called family.
By being vaccinated, you protect not only yourself, but also those who cannot be vaccinated due to medical reasons.
