Mimic wrinkles do not paint anyone and cause a lot of inconvenience with makeup and complexes without it. Unlike real age wrinkles, mimic wrinkles are often in no way associated with age, but appear due to active facial expressions, which are superimposed on the features of the anatomy of the face and skin. Sometimes inept makeup only accentuates such folds, but professionals can make them less visible with decorative cosmetics.
Dana Davidovski is a professional makeup artist from Israel. Living in a sunny country, she often has to do makeup for clients whose faces are marked with wrinkles. And Dana herself is also not devoid of these wrinkles on the forehead, around the eyes and in the mouth.
“It is impossible to completely remove all wrinkles. This is part of us, part of our skin, and they will still remain. Of course, you can use botox, fillers or other solutions that are long-term based will remove wrinkles from your face, as well as moisturize the skin, avoid the sun, use dermarollers. But, to be honest: I like to be in the sun and feel how its rays hit my face. Sometimes I’m so busy that I don’t have time to drink enough water. It happens. Therefore, I was very happy when I discovered this technique. It is so simple!"
Dana just prefers to mask her wrinkles with makeup, in which she is a professional in her field. In order to make your face visually smoother and more even, you only need a couple of make-up products. The first is a white pencil, the second is a concealer that is close in tone to a natural skin tone.
“What are wrinkles? These are folds that the skin forms. Why are they so noticeable? Because they look darker than the rest of the skin. How do we deal with darkness? Light! "
It is better to start masking mimic folds already when the main tone has already been applied to the face, and not to clean skin. Choose a location with a good light source so you can see all your wrinkles well.
Each wrinkle needs to be literally drawn with a white pencil, filling the fold formed by the skin with white.
Then you need to take a soft sponge and, like an eraser, erase the color a little, with soft blotting movements, "extinguish" it, blurring the boundaries. But it is important that the white pencil on the wrinkle remains visible, you do not need to erase it completely.
The next step is to arm yourself with a concealer to match your skin tone and once again go over the indicated folds with this concealer. You also need to apply concealer with gentle blotting movements so that there are no boundaries. The shade of the concealer should lie flat on the white pencil, completely overlapping it.
Dana often uses this technique for her clients and calls it the best beauty hack for reducing the appearance of wrinkles.
