I often test cosmetics on the channel, write about beauty and share with you my favorite care products and procedures. And today I will tell you about my main remedy and the secret of youth.
It's about the beautician, whom I trust the most precious))
For me, a beautician is not about lips-dumplings, it's about health. Those who have skin problems will understand what I am talking about.
At the next session, I got into a conversation with Yulia and found out what the secret of her professional success is, why people choose her out of a thousand specialists.
I asked how she manages to achieve such great results in skin treatment, and figured out how to distinguish the right beautician from the “harmful” one.
And I also heard a lot of interesting things about the profession and opportunities. If you have thought about such a specialty for yourself, here is all the first-hand information for you.
Julia, I know that you are a pediatrician by training. Why did you come to cosmetology? Do you understand that your vocation is to make people beautiful? :)
I came to cosmetology not because of pink stories, but to really help people who suffer from skin diseases.
Serious cosmetic problems ruin people's lives. Many are afraid of doctors, do not go to them and bring the skin to a nightmare state. I saw teenagers who, because of acne, were on the verge of suicide, their despair was so strong. They were not accepted by their peers, they could not look at themselves in the mirror because of the scars. I understood that I could really help.
I shifted my vector to prevention, to cosmetology. Cosmetology is not only beauty, it is mental health.
Who were your first clients?
It is not easy for a novice cosmetologist to deal with clients. A cosmetologist is not an ordinary doctor from a polyclinic, who is hammered with receptions all day, and it does not matter how, with what, and whom he will treat. Everything is more complicated here.
My first clients were friends and relatives who understood that I was a responsible person and a good doctor.
Then I signed up for Profi.ru, and from there a lot of people began to come, in general, the service helped me a lot in forming the base.
Can you tell us more about Profi.ru, how does the service work in general? For example, for novice makeup artists, stylists, cosmetologists, would you recommend looking for your first clients there?
Everything works very simply. Clients create orders, specialists choose from them that are interesting for themselves. They negotiate a price, discuss conditions - all this is directly with the customer. You can find a client in almost two clicks. When the work is done, the customer immediately, on the spot, pays for the service. That, in general, is all. Each specialist has a personal page where customers see the work of the doctor (master), study reviews.
I will give a couple of tips on how to fill out a profile - this is important so as not to alienate customers at the first contact with you. Take a close-up photo in front of a light background. Clients need to be able to get a good look at your face in order to know that you are benevolent and friendly.
Write a detailed, lively text about yourself. Think about what you would like to tell your clients about your experience, attitude to work? Make a complete list of the services you can offer.
I recommend giving some kind of bonus to clients. For example, my consultation is free. I do not give discounts because I initially set reasonable prices, but I provide a free consultation, which is very valuable. A person leaves me with a baggage of knowledge how and what to do to help his skin.
You have a lot of positive reviews and a high rating. What's the secret?
I have a high rating because I work well with clients. There is such a concept: "To blow not only on a sore spot, but everywhere." I work with the client in a comprehensive manner, sometimes I discourage him from the procedure, sometimes I recommend changing his lifestyle so that the effect of the procedure is better.
To put it bluntly, I don't just enlarge my lips. I come from all sides to make a person beautiful and healthy as a whole. I even give some clients recommendations on what time to go to bed and how to chew food. Only with this approach I achieve good results. Customers are satisfied and happy to leave positive feedback. Thanks to them, my rating increases.
Does it happen that you refuse a client?
I rarely refuse clients.
If someone contacted me, I am obliged to help. Even if a person objectively does not need a procedure that he invented for himself, he still needs to find the right home care. Explain what other procedures might be helpful. I always conduct a full consultation, and the client himself decides what to do next.
There are applications that I definitely do not respond to - this is lip contouring at the age of 16. Children are not allowed to use fillers.
Julia, how to understand that you have a competent specialist in front of you and which doctors should you run from without looking back?
In our profession, there is a substitution of concepts. There is a cosmetologist who can do serious procedures, and there are aesthetic cosmetologists. The latter are specialists with a secondary medical education or even no honey at all. education, but they can provide all kinds of services except, perhaps, injections.
When choosing a specialist, the first thing I would pay attention to is a diploma. This is necessary in order to understand what kind of procedures a cosmetologist can carry out. If you need basic care, massages, shallow peels, an esthetician will do. For "beauty injections", acne treatment, some hardware procedures, it is better to go to a specialist with a higher medical education. Clients often do not understand these subtleties. Grasp the head only when complications appear. This happens, unfortunately.
Julia, I think now many will want to get to you for a consultation. Nowadays there are so few specialists who approach problems in a complex manner.
Or maybe there are a couple of tips for newbies on how to stand out on Profi.ru among competitors?
My main advice and life hack is to be active and get up early)
To respond as quickly as possible to the application. If you are asked a question, answer it as quickly as possible.
Imagine yourself as a client. Here you have an emergency, the pipe has broken, and you need to help with this as soon as possible. Of course, you will choose a specialist who will answer and help quickly, in a structured manner.
It happens that customers impulsively leave orders early or early in the morning. Maybe there is a minute between coffee and work, I don't know :) I took a lot of applications at 7 am, when all the other cosmetologists were asleep. Time of day responses can also be very effective.
I say a big thank you to Julia for her honest and detailed answers.
If you are looking for clients, try Profi.ru and be sure to re-read the part with Julia's advice on profile design;)
