The government took school meals seriously last year and presented a number of innovations.

Since January 1, 2021, school meals have changed, and new sanitary standards have come into force. First Lady Elena Zelenskaya published an infographic on a social network about how children ate in schools before, and how they are now.
Children are our future, and the welfare of the nation depends on the health of the child. Even if it sounds pompous, it's true. Parents want their children to eat healthy at home and at school,
- stressed Zelenskaya.

The infographic shows that the list of products prohibited for sale in canteens has significantly expanded, it includes:

  • Industrial meat and fish products,
  • Energy drinks,
  • Coffee and caffeinated drinks.
In addition, the approved sanitary standards state that children with special needs, such as gluten or lactose intolerance, can be fed individually. To do this, they need to bring a medical certificate to the school.
