Will schoolchildren have to take a PCR test for coronavirus?

From September 1, the educational process will resume in Ukraine, only schoolchildren in the red zone will remain at home.

While the Ministry of Education is developing recommendations schools, and the administrations of educational institutions are in a hurry to complete them before autumn, parents are preparing for the new school year, which will bring many innovations to the lives of their children.

In 2020, children will return to their desks, but the learning conditions will be new:

  • all school entrances must be open,
  • the distance between the desks will increase,
  • markings will appear in the corridors,
  • pupils of different ages will be in separate zones,
  • develop a flexible schedule of classes for schoolchildren,
  • will begin to conduct classes in the fresh air.

In addition, students may have to take a PCR test for coronavirus, said the chief sanitary doctor of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko.

He stated that the issue of compulsory testing of children and teachers will be resolved at the global conference of WHO and UNICEF, which will be held next week. It is possible that doctors will consider it appropriate to test students.
