The child has interests, he asks for one or another section, but quickly loses interest at the first failure.

It is considered a normal situation for children when they change almost every week interests: boxing today, football tomorrow, knitting the day after tomorrow. But for parents who are looking for the appropriate sections, adding a child, buying the necessary equipment, this, of course, is a shock.

Frequent change of activity can be both a natural impulse to learn the world, and a consequence frustration - when the child's expectations do not correspond to reality and the difficulties with which he collided. What to do in this case?

Some children are very sensitive to criticism and failure. They internally blame themselves, feel "not so", "bad".

1. It is worth dealing with the child's self-esteem. Why is it so important for him to always be a winner, why does his self-esteem depend so much on these external factors. Perhaps his parents praise him little, celebrate his successes and dignity a little, pay little attention, make excessive demands, and do not support him enough.

2. Separate the child's personality from success or failure. In a conversation, convey to him that you appreciate his efforts, understand his difficulties, show that the result is something secondary, because in the first place is his efforts and contribution to achieving the goal.

3. Try to look at the situation through the eyes of a child. Listen carefully to what he says about his feelings, what exactly hurt him, that he now wants to quit classes. Is he really bored in the section - or did someone laugh at him, made a remark?

4. Explain that skills and abilities develop over time. If you put in enough effort, patience, and time, you can achieve success. Even the most talented athletes and artists learned something in their time, they had failures and defeats.

5. Agree in advance that the child should go to the new section for at least six months, for example. This is the time required for the first significant results. And after this period you will be ready to discuss further plans.
