How to properly prepare the meatballs

Meatballs in gravy are popular in American cuisine.

Meatballs - not really cutletsas we imagine them. But the basis of their composition is meat. And this very tasty dish can diversify your menu.

Here are two basic recipes.

Meatballs in creamy sauce 

You will need:

  • ground beef - 400 g
  • minced pork - 400 g
  • eggs - 1 pc.
  • bread crumbs - 1 tbsp.
  • milk - 1/4 tbsp.
  • onion - 1 pc.
  • garlic - 3 cloves
  • parsley - 2 tsp l.
  • ground black pepper - 1/2 tsp l.
  • chicken broth - 2 tbsp.
  • flour - 1/2 tbsp.
  • vegetable oil for frying - 3 tbsp. l.
  • butter - 2 tbsp. l.
  • flour - 2 tbsp. l.
  • sour cream - 3 tbsp. l.
  • salt, nutmeg, spices - to taste

How to cook

In a bowl, combine the minced meat with egg, finely chopped parsley, onion and garlic, pepper, breading. While stirring, add milk and salt, knead the minced meat. Roll out balls 2-3 cm in diameter.

Preheat a frying pan, add vegetable oil. Roll the balls in flour, fry them until golden brown and place on a paper towel.

Melt the butter in a frying pan, add flour, stir, gradually pour in the chicken broth and stir again. cook the sauce until thick, then add the spices, bring to a boil and place in the mitball sauce. Simmer until cooked.

Meatballs without sauce

You will need:

  • Minced beef - 500 g
  • Bread crumbs - 100 g
  • Thick sour cream - 100 g
  • Chicken egg - 1 pc.
  • Dill - 1 bunch
  • Salt, pepper - to taste
  • Sunflower oil - for deep fat

How to cook

Add salt, pepper, sour cream and bread crumbs (or mashed loaf) to the minced meat. Beat the egg white with salt until thick foam, add to the minced meat along with the yolk and chopped dill.

Knead the minced meat, divide into separate balls.

Pour enough vegetable oil into a deep saucepan so that it is 2 heights of your meatballs. Put meat balls in hot oil, fry until reddish crust. It is important to lower the meatballs in portions so that they do not touch each other in the pan.

After cooking, place the balls in a skillet and simmer for 20 minutes.
