How to involve your husband in raising a child

To get involved, a man needs specific tasks that he can do.

Dads usually spend less time with childrenthan mothers, even if they are involved in caring for the child from birth. As for upbringing, they are waiting for the baby to grow up and it will be interesting to play with him.

Men perceive parental function in an applied sense - that is, they need specific tasks and actions that need to be carried out with a child. How can they be involved in raising a child's dependence:

0-1.5 years old

What Dad Can Do: Replace Mom by giving her a break. Walk with the baby on the street, look at books with him, show toys and, of course, bathe, feed, change clothes.

Up to 2.5 years

The child should be given the opportunity to explore the world with a little help and comfort if something goes wrong. Dad should be able to calmly react to the baby's whims, be able to calm him down, understand his "words".

2.5 to 4.5 years old

This is already a fairly conscious age of the child. Dad can set boundaries more clearly and judiciously than mom, while making it clear that the baby is heard, understood and accepted. He needs to explain the rules, while not forgetting to play, discuss books, learn letters, names of objects and animals, and talk about the world around him.

4.5 to 6.5 years old

Here dad finally has full scope for imagination. With a boy you can play superheroes or play a ball, with a girl you can calmly endure her attempts to arrange a new hairstyle on her father's head.

Dad will support active children's games much better than mom. But do not forget to also hug the child, praise, teach to order.

6.5 to 10 years old

The father can teach the child "male affairs" - and, subject to the interest of the child, you can teach both a boy and a girl. True, boys at this age are more eager to imitate fathers, and girls - mothers. Therefore, with the boy you need to play sports, go fishing, do something. With a girl - talk heart to heart.
