What children's actions do almost all parents react to incorrectly

A negative reaction can exacerbate unwanted behavior.

Children often do things they are unhappy with parents. But only the right reaction of adults helps them learn to do the right thing.

So, what to do and what not to do if your child:

1. Does not obey

The most important (and difficult) thing is that you cannot react aggressively, it will definitely not lead to the desired result. A child can disobey absolutely at any age - this is part of his becoming as a person.

What to do? React calmly, distract, hug (surprise effect). If in at least 50% of cases the child obeys, this is already the norm.

It is important to focus on obedience in terms of life, safety, health, and respect for property. But, again, property is different. It is important to remember that sometimes a thing is just a thing, and not a reason to swear and ruin a relationship with a child.

To reach a compromise, you need to offer the child a choice (clothes, circles, etc.) and listen to his opinion. Staying on our own just out of principle is also not an option.

2. Messed up someone else's thing

If you start scolding your child, you will encourage them to lie about their wrong next time. First you need to find out the reason why this happened.

Remember that the child is upset himself, waiting for negativity and punishment in his address. At this moment, no one in the whole world will support him as much as you can, because he is afraid of your opinion and relationship the most.

What to do? Calm down, try to fix the thing together. Explain the consequences without getting overwhelmed by emotion. Teach you how to use things correctly to avoid future breakdowns.

3. Chose "bad" friends

If you do not like your child's friends and it seems that they have a bad influence on him, then simply forbidding communication is not an option. The child will simply begin to lie and hide the truth from you.

What to do? Try to get to know his social circle better. If your friend starts to misbehave in your presence, you will have the opportunity to react and point out to the child the negative aspects of such a friendship.

And it may well be that that friend is not so bad, if you take a closer look.

4. Got a bad grade

All parents are upset about poor grades of their children. But the children themselves are not happy with them, therefore it is important not to swear, but to motivate and find out the reason why it was not possible to complete the task better.

The main goal of study is the knowledge and skills gained, not grades. This is what we should focus on. Help your child to assimilate the necessary information in the way that is more convenient for him: by ear, visually, through play, etc.

5. Lied

All people sometimes lie. In childhood, this behavior is due to the fact that the child does not want to provoke the anger of his parents. And if adults have revealed a lie and scolded - next time he will try to lie more sophisticated. This is a vicious circle.

In order for a child not to lie, there must be trust in the relationship with the parents. And negative reactions, punishments for any offense kill this trust. Of course, it is unpleasant if the child breaks or lost something, gets a deuce. But is it nicer if he figured out how to hide it and lie, just not to see your anger?

Children's lies are a reaction to the behavior of their parents, so you should pay attention first of all to yourself: be calmer, more restrained, accept and try to understand the child, together look for a way out of the situation.
