Modern children spend a lot of time on social networks, fall in love earlier and often have problems with vision, posture and heart.
On TSN (channel "1 + 1") a special project about modern children "Generation" was held to tell viewers how they live and schoolchildren are fond of, what they dream about and how they fall in love, where they lose their health, and what they do while they are not seen parents.
As part of a special project, a journalist Lyudmila Badalyan researched the topic of the health of modern children. As we managed to find out together with doctors and experts, among the most common health problems in schoolchildren are myopia, scoliosis and overweight.
Ukrainian statistics show that during school years, diseases of the heart and blood vessels are three times more frequent, three out of ten high school students are overweight, and three more have poor eyesight, and all have problems with back. They perform physical standards worse than their peers in previous years.
Doctor of Medical Sciences Alina Platonova
says that healthy graduates are 6-10%. Ophthalmologist Irina Rukhlyadina notes that every fifth child has vision problems before the graduation class. In order not to miss the moment of deterioration of vision, parents should monitor complaints about their well-being. One of the first symptoms of vision may be headache or nausea.In the practice of orthopedic surgeon Valery Bakhmut, patients with asymmetry in the shoulders are becoming more frequent. According to him, all modern schoolchildren are at risk, and the reasons are carrying a backpack on one shoulder, incorrect posture when sitting at gadgets. In addition, the physical activity of schoolchildren is also almost zero. Children's cardio-rheumatologist Lyubov Glebova notes that now children hardly walk on the street and do not play sports.
At the same time, doctors note that it is in school that the child's health problems can be improved and the result will be given precisely by the vigilance of the parents, timely access to the doctor and understanding of the child.
In another plot of the special project, a journalist Miroslav Hanuschak tried to understand modern adolescents. After spending several days with young people, he concluded that children hardly read, love to dance, listen to Russian rap, are fixated on social networks, dream of becoming doctors, lawyers or bloggers.
TSN attracted a typical representative of the digital generation to research the topic of adolescents - a popular blogger from TikTok, 15-year-old Valeria under the nickname "Video baby". Together with her and the sociologist TSN created a virtual questionnaire, which was filled in by 1,800 teenagers from 14 to 17 years old.
As shown by its results, every fourth teenager is dancing. But this is thanks to social networks - these dances are for TikTok. About 17% of the respondents go in for sports or draw, but such an activity as reading attracts only one in every hundred (1%).
If there is a free minute, 42% of respondents immediately use it for social networks. And social networks are considered their biggest problem by 57% of teenagers. The top also includes bad habits and misunderstanding on the part of adults. At the same time, 86% of the respondents consider their relationship with their parents good.
How and when the first love manifests itself in modern children, what are their first dates and should parents worry - journalist Maria Shevchenko tried to find out.
“Not only high school students speak about love now, it is not uncommon even in the first grade. If earlier the manifestations of sympathy were correspondence in the classroom, pulling by the hair and writing on the asphalt, now the feeling is measured in "likes" on the Web. The modern generation discusses heart matters calmly and without hesitation. They correspond on the "24 by 7" network, - says the journalist in the story.
The youngest experts who came to comment on the topic of journalists are 10 years old. One of the girls even admitted that she is now in love. And one of her peers added that she had even kissed. Psychologists, meanwhile, calm them down and say that a person is able to realize love even at the age of five. And the sexologist adds that it's not just intelligence. But also in the fact that in the modern generation, puberty begins earlier.
"Puberty starts from 8 years old. Menstruation occurs at the age of 9-10, and they become adults much earlier, " - explains the specialist.
UNICEF research shows that one in ten teenagers now have an intimate experience at age 12 and earlier. Most of the teenagers surveyed admitted that they are looking for answers to important questions on the Internet, because they are ashamed to talk about it with their parents. At the same time, experts advise parents to be frank with their children and explain everything to them delicately.
