Items in the children's first aid kit that need to be urgently disposed of

A children's first aid kit should always be kept separate from an adult so that you can quickly find what you need medicine and it is easy to keep track of expiration dates and availability of the right drugs. These are usually antipyretics, allergy medications, nasal drops, rehydration products, patches, hydrogen peroxide, and the like.

But here are a few things that should definitely not be in a children's first aid kit.

1. Expired medicines

You should not tempt fate and risk children's health, hoping that "nothing could happen" with the medicine expired for several months. Revision of all potions, ointments and drops should be carried out at least once every 3-4 months so that everything is in stock and not expired.

2. Medicines for adults

Antipyretic should always be bought according to age, it is indicated on the package. And strictly observe the dosage, because the approximation here can turn into a big problem.

And, of course, in no case should you give your child adult medications on your own, simply by cutting the pill in half, for example. The same applies to adolescents and younger children. They should have different medicines, not the same in different dosages.

3. Antibiotics

They are always prescribed by a doctor for a specific disease, focusing not only on its name, but also on many other features of the course of the disease, the condition and age of the child. Drinking antibiotics on your own without prescribing is simply dangerous.

And therefore, after the course of treatment, the unused antibiotic must be poured out, if it is a suspension, or thrown away, if it is a pill. You cannot start giving your child such a medicine on your own if "the disease seems to be the same."
