Ukrainian artist Anna Chicherina presents her second series of paintings entitled "About Happiness" from the trilogy "Laskavo please before Happiness."
How did you get started with painting?
My grandfather was an artist, since childhood I liked paints, brushes, I really loved to draw, but did not do it professionally. One day I went to an art shop, bought paints, brushes, canvases and started painting. I saw what I was doing and that I really like it. She studied with artists, attended master classes and classes, asked Ukrainian artists for individual lessons and asked for advice.
And I am grateful to everyone who responded, we have a lot of generous people in our country who are ready to help and support. Then there were the first orders, I painted pictures for charity exhibitions and auctions, for gifts.
I saw how people are sincerely happy, how my works bring smiles and good emotions. I had a period when I did not write for about a year, but after the break I began to write more often and get even more pleasure. Soon I met my mentor Andrey Kutsachenko and began to paint what I was afraid of, but dreamed of very much - portraits. Now my work is a part of me and my family, as this gift was passed on to me from my parents.
Could you tell us more about the concept "About happiness"? How did you get the idea of just such a name?
This name was born in my head after I wrote the first three works from this series. Now I understand that there is no more appropriate title for this series of works. This is the continuation of the story and trilogy "Welcome to happiness".
What were the inspirations for when creating pictures?
Do you have moments when you want to stop time? This is when the soul is inexplicably good. Beautiful nature, dew, the color of greenery, when you see that the sky is not blue, it actually consists of many colors, if you look closely, you will see that it contains pink, yellow, lilac, etc. Also, moments with loved ones, which you remember and cannot help smiling. You know, when you don’t want the meeting to end, when you don’t want to let the person go. I am inspired by moments that touch my very heart. Why did you decide to portray these particular cities?
Cities of power, places of power, as I feel them. The series of paintings with cities will definitely be replenished, because there is an incredible number of amazing places in the world that you want to capture on canvas.
Do you have specific primary colors in which to write?
I am using the entire palette. I love it when a picture bewitches with an abundance of colors. Sapphire, pearl, deep turquoise, emerald, ruby, carmine, chocolate, cinnamon, cocoa with milk, honey, purple, indigo, these and many other colors, which are a pleasure to even enumerate and it is even more pleasant to paint something great with them on canvas, they all deserve to be components work
How to find your style?
First you need to start trying, making sketches, listening to yourself, what you like, what makes your soul happy and what brings pleasure to you. The viewer reads the emotions and love of the artist through the painting. You don't need to try to please someone, you don't need to follow someone, it's important to be unique, and we can be unique when we hear ourselves, our desires, our emotions. The main thing is to love what you do very much. It is very important that when painting a picture, think not about style, but about what you want to tell the world with your work. And so gradually, picture by picture, the style will develop itself.
What do you want to say with your creativity?
For me, there is nothing more valuable than a "person", relatives and loved ones, the time spent with them, their love and support. And it doesn't matter what is happening in the world if you have family and friends. No difficulties are terrible, because you are the happiest person and the most precious wealth is next to you. In my works, I convey precisely these moments of happiness.
In life, we sometimes do not appreciate what we have and are looking for happiness in something else, although if we stop and look back around, if you start living in the moment and notice these happy moments, then each person will become a little happier. With my work, I focus the viewer's attention on precisely these moments, which are important to me. And you know, they respond to many people.
What advice would you give to people who want to start painting but hesitate?
I believe that artists have great power, we can plunge people into sadness and vice versa cause a lot of positive, kind emotions with our works. Also, the picture can make the space "heavy" or vice versa fill the house with light and love. I believe that there is enough desire to start. Start writing for the people you love. When we paint loved ones in a picture or for a loved one, with thoughts about him, we create this person has a talisman, protection, we transfer energy and love to him, because the paintings have the most powerful by force. Try to start writing, and you will feel new emotions, writing works improves your mood, clears thoughts of negativity, this is a kind of meditation, a small world - you, canvas, paints and your imagination. This is Love.
