Super Mario from Lego: the site editors are the first to test the new constructor

Let's start with the fact that in the spring we released news of the LEGO Group's partnership with Nintendo, a video game developer, and their innovative development, the LEGO® Super Mario ™ building series. This series will go on sale from August 1 this year. And the editors of the Kolobok.ua website were waiting for the opportunity to test LEGO® Super Mario ™ among the first. And this moment came when I and my children of 6 and 13 years old were holding the long-awaited boxes in their hands.

I will make a small digression. My children were brought up on LEGO bricks, there are more than 10 different sets in our house. For a long time, I tried to keep each individual kit in its "native" box along with the corresponding assembly instructions.

But readers will understand me, the designers mercilessly mixed, and in the end we glued one large box with 16 different compartments and arranged all the details simply by color. Since then, children have begun to model completely incredible new designs, not very similar to those indicated in the instructions. Playing without instructions stimulated their creativity, developed imagination and a sense of form.

And how surprised I was when there were no building instructions in the boxes of LEGO® Super Mario ™ sets. After clarifying, I learned that the LEGO company is increasingly abandoning assembly tips so as not to hold back imagination, but to inspire creativity, develop intelligence and logic in children.

So what is it - an interactive LEGO® Super Mario ™ construction set. This is the physical embodiment of the cult computer game Super Mario. Yes, exactly the one that burst into our, as they say, online life almost 30 years ago and gave impetus to the development of subsequent generations of computer games.

I remember how, as a child, after school lessons, I hung out at a neighbor's boy with a prefix, driving the main character - the plumber Mario - collecting coins, fighting monsters and making his way to the princess Peach. Mario was so popular that he entered the Guinness Book of Records as the most recognizable character in computer games. But we all know not the best consequences of long sitting at the computer and tablet of our children. In response, LEGO creates a completely new kind of game that stands at the intersection of the traditional construction set and video games, making it possible to combine the digital passion of the younger generation with material, tangible play.

Another important asset and even, I would say, the mission of LEGO® Super Mario ™ is to unite generations. Both children and adults willingly play it, and most importantly - together. How often do we answer our children to their call to play with them - "Play it yourself"? And nostalgia for youthful fun takes us back in time and draws us to LEGO® Super Mario ™, and we play on the same wavelength with the children.

Going back to opening the boxes. The very first box is the Adventure with Mario Starter Kit. Starter kit ". It includes the main interactive Mario figurine. By inserting 2 AAA batteries into it, the hero comes to life: LCD screens are installed in the eyes, mouth and stomach of the figure, which allows you to show Mario's reaction to movement, color and interactive cubes.

The voice and melodies emitted by the main character completely repeat the original sounds of a computer game. And then the fun begins. Each set contains new adventures and characters that you can not only play with your friends or parents with, but also compete who will collect more coins with Mario.

All sets are fully compatible with the starter, expanding the play space and complementing it with new adventures. In Ukraine, from August 1, sets will soon be presented (in addition to the starting one):

And what kind of interactive is now without an application. A free LEGO® Super Mario ™ app (IPhone and Android versions) has been created for fans of the game. By bluetooth (Mario has a special button), you can track the results of players, which motivates to build even more interesting new worlds.
