Butter is an ingredient, without which it is difficult to imagine porridge or young potatoes.

However, among such a variety on store shelves, you don't know which one to choose.

In the program "Ranok z Ukraine", which goes on the channel "Ukraine", experts told how to check the quality of oil.

Real butter is necessarily made according to state standards, has a fat content of up to 83% and consists of either cream or cow's milk. Therefore, such a product is never cheap. To make 200 g of butter, you need 4 liters of milk, so a package of high-quality butter cannot cost less than 40 UAH.

But on the shelves of supermarkets, say the presenters Maria Melnik and Grigory German, you can find various markings - extra-class oil, peasant oil, sandwich oil. A consumer protection expert explains the difference between the two.

“Sandwich oil has the lowest fat content, Selyanskoe oil has medium, and extra-class oil has the highest, 82-83% fat. That is, we cannot say that 83% fat is better than 60%. This does not affect the quality and safe indicators, "- convinces the expert on consumer protection Vladislav Mironov on the air of the channel" Ukraine ".

Experts believe that in order to check which oil you bought - real or fake - you cannot do without laboratory research. However, there are several life hacks on how to control the quality of oil at home. The first is to taste it.

“The taste of butter must be creamy. When you swallow it, the taste should unfold and the sensation of milk, cream, sour cream should remain, ”says chef Igor Bragin.

The next way is to throw a bite into hot water. The real butter will be smooth when mixed. But there is another proprietary method that is used even in the kitchen of restaurants.

“We cut off a piece of butter, put it on a hot frying pan and watch how it behaves. The good should melt evenly and give the taste of butter, ”the chef noted in the program“ Ranok z Ukraine ”.

Watch the program "Ranok z Ukraine" on weekdays at 6:29 on the channel "Ukraine".
