In 2019, Catholic Christmas is traditionally celebrated on December 25.

A wonderful holiday awaits Ukrainians in December, Christmas according to the Gregorian calendar, a celebration celebrated by all Catholics in the world. On this day, Western Christians celebrate the main religious event of the year, the birth of Jesus.

The date for the celebration of Christmas was set as early as 431 during the Third Ecumenical Council.

Ukrainians on December 25, regardless of belonging to the Catholic faith, will receive a day off; they will not have to work it off at the expense of Saturday.

Everyone knows that for Catholics, Christmas remains one of the biggest holidays of the year. It is customary for them to repent of their sins and ask the higher powers for forgiveness during four weeks, called Advent.

To this end, in the churches of the Western Rite during Advent, candles are installed for parishioners (one for each Sunday).

And Catholics begin to celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve, December 24, after the first dawn in the evening.
