The designer's job is not only to choose the color of the floor and walls for your home, but also to share little tricks.

Every professional designer has a whole stock of life hacks for interior, which he periodically uses depending on the needs of the room with which he works.

Here are some ideas for interior improvement and more comfort that designers offer to their clients.

1. Cat scratching post on a table leg

If you wish, you can even make four scratching posts for your pet from the table legs. It is enough to tightly wrap the table legs with a thick rope. It will look stylish, and the "scratching post" will live quite a long time due to the strong structure of the rope. And you don't have to worry about the safety of your carpet and sofa.

2. Towels under cabinet level

We used to hang towels in the bathroom at about eye level. But children, for example, are uncomfortable reaching such a height, and in general, the sight of hanging towels creates visual noise. If you place towel hooks under the wall cabinets, they will not be visible, and therefore the bathtub will become more stylish.

3. Curtain screen

Small curtains on wooden supports allow you to cover part of the window, even if there is no possibility to hang the cornice or attach the roller shutters to the windows. It is easy to place the blinds by the window if necessary, and then remove. Especially true for windows in bathrooms or kitchens.

4. Trash can under the work area

Usually the trash bin is located under the sink - and it is not always convenient to carry trash there from the work area. If you move the bucket to a drawer just below the working area, then it will be enough to keep it slightly open and immediately brush away unnecessary leftovers there while cooking.

5. "Fake" sofa back

If you don't want to put a bulky kitchen sofa, you can make it trickier: a not very wide, but soft "back" is attached to the wall, and under it are stools, benches or other seating places. The chairs can be easily moved when needed, unlike the sofa, which is not so easy to move and fit into a new place. A "false" backrest can also be attached to the base of a kitchen island or a bar counter.

6. Step near the windowsill

If you had to design your kitchen, you probably wondered how to make an extension of the countertop out of the window sill. But usually their levels do not coincide - and it is absurd to make a table top close to the window. However, there is a way out: if you make a tabletop from artificial stone, then you can make a small step when moving from the table to the windowsill. And then the window sill itself also turns into an extension of the stone countertop.

7. Cork wall

If you have children, then surely the apartment is full of their drawings. It seems unnecessary to hang each in a frame. To simplify the process, choose an empty wall or part of a wall to which you can glue a sheet of cork from floor to ceiling. Now drawings can be easily fixed with buttons without damaging the wallpaper or paint.

8. Lowering the floor for dirty shoes

The dirt from the hallway is easily carried throughout the apartment. And if there is no hallway and the front door leads directly to the room, then permanent sand under your feet is inevitable. An interesting solution: When entering the room, make a small section of lowering the floor. All dirty shoes will be located there, and it will not be easy for garbage to get into the rest of the apartment.
