How to make scented bath bombs as a gift for mom and grandmother

click fraud protection

As a craft for March 8, 2019, you can make aromatic bath bombs with your own hands.

Ingredients for the bomb:

  • baking soda - 300 g;
  • citric acid or tartar - 150 g;
  • essential oil of your choice - 5-7 g;
  • food coloring to choose from - 3-5 drops;
  • vegetable oil (olive, grape, hemp, etc.) - 1 tsp;
  • flower petals, dry aromatic herbs - optional;
  • cold water in a spray bottle.

Recommendation:

It is better to make a bath bomb with latex gloves so that dyes do not stain your skin.

So let's get started:

1. In a large dry bowl, combine the baking soda and citric acid.

2. Sift the dry mass through a sieve, add essential and edible oils. Grind them with dry mixture so that the reaction does not start.

3. Divide the resulting mass into parts, and add to each prepared dye (you can take your time with powder, but we recommend mixing the mass quickly and intensively with liquid).

4. Add petals or dry herbs to the mass.

5. Add water from a spray bottle to the mixture little by little. Make sure that there is not much water, otherwise a tingling reaction will begin and the bath bombs will be ruined. And if there is not enough water, the mixture will not keep its shape, it will crumble in the hands.

The bomb mixture should be loose but stick together if squeezed in your hand.

6. Tamp the mixture into molds. To do this, you can use regular baking dishes.

7. Leave the bath bombs to “ripen” for a few hours in a dry and warm room.

8. Wrap them in plastic wrap to prevent the smell from evaporating.

9. Wrap your craft for March 8th in beautiful paper with a ribbon!
