Tatiana Vorontsova is a student at the Kiev National University of Culture and Arts. Tanya is studying to be a TV journalist, and our interview with her took place for a reason: she received a diploma from kolobok.ua!

First of all, I would like to congratulate you on the title of "Most active aspiring journalist" at the Black Sea Games, which took place in July 2019 in Skadovsk. You were the very energizer, showed yourself 100% and received a diploma from our site. Tell me, when did this craving for journalism appear and who contributed to it the most?

Thank you, I am very pleased!

In 2011, I watched the first issue of The Inspector General with Olga Freimut, and this is how it all began. I remember that I was struck by the new genre and her charisma. The program changed my attitude towards the service - a good confirmation that journalists are the 4th power. In short, I was inspired by this area and began to try myself in it.

At first, my classmates and I shot parodies of this show, they had fun, and I practiced. Then I went to journalism courses at the “Yun-Pres” of the Kiev Palace of Children and Youth, met my teachers there and only became convinced that this was my direction.

Thanks to Yulia Mikhailovna, my teacher, this year I was a journalist at the Black Sea Games. I interviewed Monatik and Nastya Kamensky - this is a great success for me.

Do you think there is a future in journalism (especially in the post-Soviet space)? And if so, which one?

It seems to me that there is a future in everything where professionals work, and, fortunately, there are only more of them in our country.

If not journalism, then what?

I never asked myself such a question. I think if there was no journalism in my life, I would be doing stand-up comedy.

What do you prefer to do in your free time?

Every year I have less free time.

If I have a minute, I watch interviews or comedians' performances. Sometimes I read or write plans for the week / day. But it all depends on the mood, of course. More often I just meet friends or spend time with a guy.

Tell us about your first steps in journalism, if any.

In “Yun-Pres”, the news agency where I started my studies, there was a newspaper “Mist-M”. The publication in it was a good incentive for me. My materials were not immediately noticed, but when it happened, I was happy. I still keep issues with my works. It is very important for me.

Do you have a taboo on interviews? For example, people with radical beliefs or associated with crime.

No, at least not at the moment. It seems to me that it is important to get information firsthand and have an idea of why a person thinks / acts in this way and not otherwise.

How do you feel about Ukrainian educational institutions that specialize in training journalists? Are you satisfied with your university?

Positively. I'm in my second year studying to be a TV journalist at the Kiev National University of Culture and Arts. More than satisfied. At first, when I entered, I was a little worried about the cliches and clichés that are hung on the university. But, all the stereotypes broke on the very first day of school. We are given a strong base, the teachers explain the material from their experience and practice, because most of them work in parallel on TV channels and this is oh-oh-very important.

We also have practice from the first year, and this is not found in all universities.

Do you have a journalist idol who inspires you in your profession?

I still like Freimuth, although now she's gone more to publishing. Sobchak I love to watch in her program of the same name on YouTube. She is organic and multifaceted, she tries herself in many genres and spheres - this cannot but admire. It is interesting to watch her transformations, because a journalist is first of all a person for me and his inner content is important to me.

In which area did you want to work next: press, radio, television or the Internet? Why?

I always dreamed of working as a TV presenter, I wanted my own program. But, having enrolled in a TV journalist, at the university they more and more often tell us that this desire is to be realized faster in YouTube. Now I am thinking about my project, which will potentially collect viewers and views on the Internet. Most likely, I will shoot a video of my poetry, such small clips with meaning, and not just reading poetry. I would like something deep in this regard, I hope that there will be my viewer and listener-connoisseur. I am already working in this direction, by the way) And television will definitely catch up.

What are your main fears?

Most of all I am afraid of death, I do not know when it will happen to me and I am afraid not to have time for everything I want in life until this moment. I was very impressed by the film "The New Testament", people received SMS with the date of their end and began to change a lot, if not all. I would like to be happy with everything in my life and at the moment when I learn about my death. I'm afraid she won't catch me off guard.

Do you think custom materials have their own cost? Or should a journalist refuse to write jeans for any amount?

Everything has a cost. Once I heard an interesting look on this topic: you do not take bribes just because you have not yet been offered the required amount. In this perspective, the question opens in a new light and makes you think. To agree or not is a personal matter and karma for everyone. I haven’t come across this, so I cannot tell from my experience.

You have a separate Instagram page dedicated to poetry. Tell me, how many poetry do you already have in your arsenal and in what emotional state do you most often write them?

I have been writing since I was 14, but only this year I began to share my poems on @vorontsslova. I didn’t count, but I think that there are about 100 verses for sure!

I am writing in a different state. More often, of course, calm. When emotions leave and you can look at the situation from a distance, then successful poems are born, it seems to me. I also love to watch my evolution in creativity. For example, I have two breakup verses, one written 3 years ago and the other last year. A radically different approach and look, which is good news. All information in the Instagram profile @vorontsslova. I'm looking forward to seeing you.
