Mineral water: is it dangerous?

Recently, scientists from the University of St. Andrews (Scotland), after conducting a complex of studies, came to a rather odious conclusion: "for a person, it turns out, milk is healthier than drinking water." They explained this statement by the fact that milk fat, together with sugar, protein and sodium, help milk to stay in our body for as long as possible. The detailed results of the experiment were published in the "Frankfurter Rundscha" (Germany, newspaper).

Water: positive and negative qualities

Water is often the subject of research by scientists who diligently study the positive and negative qualities of this unique substance. It has already been found that water actively helps in the removal of end metabolic products from the human body, as well as toxins. It has the most beneficial effect on the skin and normalizes the functioning of the digestive tract, prevents constipation. In addition, regular consumption of clean drinking water ensures the normal functioning of the immune system, and also reduces the risk of diseases of the cardiovascular system. Water also breaks down fats and helps you lose weight.

However, although they say much less about this than about the benefits, water sometimes poses a danger to the human body. Let's figure it out: what kind of water can you drink without fear, and which one is better to refuse? And we will also find out: why should you drink mineral water exclusively as directed by your doctor? And what mistakes should be avoided when filtering drinking water?

Experts are sure: a healthy person, in the absence of individual contraindications, should drink 2-2.5 liters of pure water a day. Then the used water will have time to "pump over" and be excreted without accumulating in the space between the cells. This means that there will be no edema either on the limbs or on the face.

But if the body (albeit practically healthy) receives more fluid than it should, undesirable reactions are triggered. Excess water begins to be absorbed into the bloodstream through the intestinal mucosa, which means that the volume of circulating blood increases and AD rises. In addition, the load on the renal filter increases, and electrolytes are washed out with the urine. Edema increases in the intercellular space, the skin is stretched.

Spring water

Disappointment awaits those who consider spring water useful. In such sources, as a rule, live giardia, E. coli, and other harmful microorganisms that cause diarrhea and, as a result, dehydration. To be sure of the purity of spring water, you need to know exactly where it originates and where each specific source flows. Otherwise, it may turn out to be radioactive, start in a landfill or flow through soils rich in iron or, say, calcium salts. The use of such spring water can cause serious harm to the human body.

Water in plastic bottles

And, by the way, if someone uses water from plastic bottles, he, too, cannot be sure of its harmlessness if he violates the storage conditions.

Once opened, this water should only be stored in the refrigerator. Otherwise, the plastic of the bottle interacts with oxygen and releases harmful substances directly into the water.

In addition, you need to pay attention to the plastic number (Nos. 2,4,5 are safe and can be used secondary, but 1,3,6,7 - no, they should be disposed of after use, and in the prescribed way).

Mineral water

It turns out that not every mineral water has beneficial properties. The dining room, for example, only stimulates digestion. Only water with a mineralization of more than 10 grams per liter has medicinal properties.

Therefore, table mineral water can be drunk in any quantity (however, food should not be cooked on it), but only a doctor should prescribe medicinal mineral water.

Tap water

Tap water (especially chlorinated water) almost always adversely affects the human body. It is better to defend it before drinking. Better to install a filter for cleaning. But in the latter case, you need to keep in mind: the filter cleans the water from dirt, but accumulates this dirt in itself (if, of course, this is not a self-cleaning device). So it needs to be changed regularly. And also pick up filter cartridges for a specific type of water (tap water, from a natural source, etc.).
