The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation has issued temporary recommendations for the treatment of a new coronavirus infection, which says that the clinical manifestation of infection with this the most "new Chinese" coronavirus can become not only ARVI and pneumonia, but also sepsis, and together with it, also septic (aka infectious toxic) shock. These recommendations were published on the official website of the ministry on January 30, 20 and sent to all Russian regions.
Naturally, the message about a new manifestation of the coronavirus does not add optimism. As, however, and other points of this document. So, for example, the indication that the most susceptible to the new type of coronavirus is of particular concern turned out to be middle-aged people, the elderly, as well as patients suffering from a number of chronic diseases. However, it is good that children and young people are less susceptible to infection with this type of coronavirus infection.
In the above-mentioned recommendations of the Russian Ministry of Health, it is especially noted that there are no statistics yet that would confirm the mass incidence of children. Only a few cases of infection of children with a new type of coronavirus have been noted and described. And these cases do not allow an objective assessment of the features and characteristic manifestations of this particular clinical form of the disease at all its stages. The document sent out only notes that there were cases, but since there are only a few of them, this allows us to conclude that both children and young people are less susceptible to coronavirus.
And yet, in the methodological recommendations of the Ministry of Health, as the head of the department, Mikhail Murashko, said on Wednesday (01/29/20) in the evening, some features of the clinical coronavirus picture in children were described. This is a lesion of the upper (rhinopharyngitis) or lower (bronchitis, pneumonia) respiratory tract.
The data for the analysis, which made it possible to draw such conclusions, was obtained from the results of the study of cases of seasonal infections caused by infection with coronaviruses.
