Today I want to share a few scents that can confidently take back a few square centimeters of living space in your locker. We are talking about a perfume with iris.
The iris scent is wonderful! He bribed me with the fact that it seems to be very light, weightless, but "sticks" to clothes and skin tightly. Very sophisticated, elegant, straight aristocratic woody-floral-powdery scent.
Iris is one of the most expensive ingredients in perfume. It's all about the tricky technology of obtaining oil: iris needs a special soil and climate, they wait 3 years from the moment of planting, then in the middle of summer, rhizomes are harvested, peeled, dried in the sun for several days, and then stored for another 3 years in dry location. Then distilled with steam to obtain oil. Six years must pass to obtain iris absolute, which is a long time!
The iris character in the perfume is unique and adds luxury to the composition. It's hard to describe, but sniff enough. Aromas with iris are timeless and fashionable, perfumers used iris in their compositions to recreate, for example, the spirit of Russian ballet :-)
The next three fragrances with iris, from the very first seconds after puff, declare their unsurpassed elegance. Take a stroll through perfume shops, apply on a blotter, listen to the scent and feel free to feel like a monarchist with them.
1. Chanel No. 19
A classic chypre that is associated with freezing outside at the end of October. Sharp fresh greens and flowers, the struggle of chypre cold with the tenderness of irises. In perfume, this is perhaps the best iris.
Frankly, I don’t understand at all how it happened historically that the “fifth chanel” took all the main attention for itself when there is such a beautiful composition with iris.
2. Prada Infusion d'Iris Eau de Toilette
Prada Infusion d'Iris will tell you about the airiness of the iris that I wrote at the very beginning of the article. There are many, many iris and delicate powder, without dustiness. It is light, airy, but adheres to the skin so much that it does not evaporate during the day (not a day, but a day!).
Look exactly eau de toilette, not eau de parfum (for the toilet version, the upper half of the bottle is matt).
It is very similar to Chanel # 19 Poudree in the combination "iris + galbanum", but without aldehydes. Therefore, it is so light and airy.
As I said, everything with iris is not cheap. But the fragrance is for those who have known at least for a long time that eau de toilette can surpass the perfumed version in terms of durability and beauty of sound.
3. Hermes Cuir d'Ange
Great example of iris shadow work. He himself is not clearly audible, but plays an important role in the composition. "Angel skin" - the exact name of the contents in the bottle.
The most delicate balsamic leather of the finest workmanship, a little with a French accent. And what is most interesting: in addition to natural leather, I can clearly hear Guerlain meteorites in the fragrance. Remember their scent? It's like Guerlain's meteorites with talcum powder are in a powder box, covered with natural oily leather.
Style, gloss, excellent taste and monarchism in one bottle. Well, what's wrong with abstracting a little and imagining how you run this crazy world? :-)
