I am one of those whom nature decided to save in case you have to run under the scorching sun all your life. without clothes through the forests and steppes - abundantly supplied with hair follicles not only on the head, but also on body. However, man is not a monkey; he has learned to protect himself from everything in the world, even from the sun's rays. He does not need body hair now, since he has been wearing clothes for centuries.
The beauty industry at the end of the 20th century may have convinced us that a smooth body is beautiful. Now the trend is relevant "love yourself for who you are", and no longer impose on us to remove all hairs on the legs, arms, armpits, face and intimate places. But if you yourself want to admire your smooth body, and you still think the presence of hair on your legs and armpits is ugly - today's material is for you.
I want to share with you how to stop considering depilation a sore topic. But a couple of years ago it was really so. It's not even the hair removal process itself, but what happens after the procedure.
For me, the most important thing in depilation is the maximum smoothness of the body without irritation, and even more so - without ingrown hairs. You will not find a normal master in the daytime with fire, and such searches hit the wallet hard. Plus, you need to get home from the salon, and on the way, leather (which already has an epidermal barrier after the procedure) can become ripe and much more susceptible to dirt and dust, no matter what antiseptic after depilation the master treats.
The good old machine is not a panacea for me either, because it was after it that I learned what an ingrown hair is. And they are not so harmless. Small raised redness in the area of ingrown hairs are still flowers.
It is much more dangerous when an ingrown hair begins to grow towards the deep layers of the skin, simultaneously blocking all the paths to the sebaceous ducts and thereby creating all the conditions for suppuration and accumulation of bacteria. The inflammation in such cases is serious. Here, no scrubs with acids will help - you have to go to a dermatologist.
For me, the best option is depilatory cream. It has more advantages than disadvantages. If we talk about the shortcomings, then depilation creams have only one - a large expense. On an area with dense vegetation, you need to spread it with a thick layer, so that later, like in an advertisement, a silk scarf rolls down from smooth legs.
And then there are only pluses. Ease of use: no wax melters, strips or other consumables for you. I smeared it on clean skin with cream, waited a couple of minutes and washed it off.
The depilatory cream removes hair very well. If it leaves behind a pair of vellus hair, it is the very ones that are not visible to the naked eye.
Earlier I was also frightened by the fact how a cream can "eat away" hair without consequences on the skin. After all, hair and skin are composed of keratin, protein compounds, which are just such creams destroy.
But when I started to analyze this topic a couple of years ago, talked with cosmetologists and technologists, I found out the following. Our hair is almost entirely composed of keratin (protein compounds). The protective barrier of the skin also contains keratin, but the most important thing is the hydrolipid mantle, the first link in the protection of our skin from dirt and pathogenic microorganisms. It is a mixture of water, fatty compounds and organic acids. Now let's move on to the most important thing: depilatory cream only needs to destroy protein compounds, and in water or fat it dissolves and does not work.
In order not to run into the entire periodic table in a tube and not be afraid for chemical burns, with which the masters are afraid (because depilatory cream deprives them of bread) - you need to buy products from those firms that specialize in depilation. They have their own laboratories, technologists, doctors, funding for scientific research that touch on the topic of depilation and hair removal.
In this regard, I am conservative and do not risk getting acquainted with the products of little-known brands, especially when it comes to chemical hair removal. Therefore, I have long opted for Veet. On the topic of depilation, they ate the dog. And their new line of creams Veet minima finally convinced me that there is no point in overpaying the master in the salon.
Now they have such a gentle composition that even I, as the owner of super-sensitive skin, can use it without fear of irritation. In line Minima for sensitive skin, there is aloe juice in the composition, which works as panthenol after wax depilation. For normal skin - pomegranate, for dry skin - cucumber extract, which very well retains moisture in the skin.
I mainly use creams for sensitive and dry skin. After the shower, I apply a thin layer to those places where there is a little hair, and with a thick layer where there is an abundance of them :-)
Withstand no more than 6 minutes (if with cucumber or pomegranate extract) or 10 minutes (if with aloe juice), then with a spatula I remove the cream along with the hair. I want to note that burnt hair no longer smells like it did with the first versions of depilatory creams, which appeared in pharmacies in the early 2000s. The Veet Minima cream itself has a very pleasant, unobtrusive aroma, without any pungent odor.
Cream for sensitive skin should be kept a little longer because its composition is gentle: there are fewer aggressive components involved in hair removal.
After you wash off the remnants of the cream, you can apply a nourishing cream before bed, or do nothing at all. Moisturizing ingredients Veet minima available, and it's very convenient. Otherwise, you get tired of all this ritual of several layers of cream before going to bed.
The result in the form of smooth legs, arms and other parts of the body is enough for me for 5-7 days. The tube (surprisingly) is enough for me personally for 5-6 applications.
So don't be afraid of depilatory creams. It is simple, convenient and painless. Yes, some girls are allergic to them, but for this it is enough to carry out a skin sensitivity test, it is prescribed on all packages.
