Anything can be expected from the Chinese. This opinion is shared by many Europeans and Americans. Yes, and we. We received a lot of gifts from China in 2020: a virus, depression on self-isolation, skin irritation from masks, apathy. Some have lost their jobs altogether.
And here, from the end of July to the present, people began to receive mysterious surprises from the Chinese - parcels with seeds that they had not ordered. A generous bonus fell on residents of the USA, Canada, Australia, the UK and Japan. Each owner of such an agro-gift had different seeds.
People were outraged by this unexpected gift. Someone was seriously scared, they thought they were poisoned. The rest did not understand what to do with this good. But no one understood what these seeds were.
The US authorities, well, how else, they saw Chinese biological weapons. They say that the virus did not defeat people, so we can starve to death with mysterious seeds that will ruin the entire harvest. The USDA urged recipients of the agro-parcels not to plant seeds and wait for the results of the investigation.
While the authorities studied the seeds far and wide, people themselves found out the reason for the generosity of the Chinese Santa Claus. It turns out that a package with seeds is one of the ways to boost ratings and reviews of stores on Aliexpress.
Savvy Chinese sellers who recently signed up on the Aliexpress platform have found a way to quickly get their store up and running. Instead of interesting discounts, free delivery to customers, quality goods at an inexpensive price, they found another way out.
Here's the thing: in order to leave a positive review and give a high score to the seller, the order must, in fact, be shipped by mail. On Aliexpress, they often order jewelry, phone cases and other trifles. The weight is about the same when the seeds are sent, plus they are inexpensive. A fake buyer orders the product, indicates the left address, receives a tracking code. And after the order has been delivered, its status is updated and the dummy buyer runs to the reviews tab to poetically paint the wonderful product.
Is it bad? The situation is twofold. On the one hand, it is difficult for new sellers on Aliexpress to promote their store, there is a lot of competition, and regular buyers there have developed a list of proven sellers over the years. The rest are guided by ratings and reviews. New sellers don't have both. Spin as they can.
On the other hand, be careful! Don't look at the number of reviews, look at their quality: praises with a bunch of epithets and without a single grammatical errors should cause common doubts, as well as the frequency of their published. And be sure to pay attention to reviews where there are photos.
So if you suddenly receive a parcel with seeds, do not be afraid. Another apocalypse from the Chinese is canceled this year :-)
What would you do with the seeds? Planted? Thrown out? Or grind the seeds and make a scrub for the theme?
