Removing gel polish at home is more popular than ever. The masters do not accept, the girls panic from the regrown nails and try to tear off the covering. If it doesn't work out, they go to extreme measures, for example, they gnaw it. In no case should this be done, but it is harmful, and sometimes even dangerous, to overburden the overgrown coating.

If you haven't gotten rid of the old coverage yet, link to the article "How to remove the gel polish yourself while the masters are in quarantine"I will attach at the end of the article, but for now - read about the consequences that await you from the barbaric removal of the old coating.

To the question "how to restore nails at home after damage (any)"there is a short answer - no way.

Nails are a non-living layer of cells, and it will take them six months to fully recover until a healthy nail plate grows back.

There are, of course, procedures that a master can do in the salon, they are called Vita Gel - suitable for very damaged nails. IBX is suitable for any degree of damage, but it will not help if the cause of brittle nails is a lack of vitamins.

How these tools work: when applied to the nail plate and heating, they fill in the damage, as if restoring the nail plate. The procedures are required from 3 to 15, depending on how badly the nails are damaged. But all this can only be done by a master when he comes to work. For now, you must take care of your nails yourself.

Why is it bad to rip off gel polish?

Together with the old coating, you also peel off the top layer of the nail plate. Not always noticeable to the eye, but it is.

Damage to the nail plate can lead to sensitivity and even pain. A momentary rush to tear everything off your nails will create problems for you for several months. Because in the process of regrowth, the nails will exfoliate and break until a healthy nail grows back completely.

With subsequent coatings, gel polish may simply not adhere to damaged and weakened nails.

If you think that you will drink a vitamin complex for nails and everything will pass, then difficulties will arise here. Taking vitamins helps only with their lack in the body. And you will be able to find out only after passing the tests.

How to put your nails in order if you removed the old coating from the nails incorrectly

1. Remove the length of your nails (the shorter the better). After you peeled off the coating, the nails became thinner and now they will break very badly. Actually, in order to reduce this, we cut our nails.

2. Use strengthening varnishes. They are useful in that, as it were, "seal" all formed detachments. Choose strengthening varnishes without formaldehyde, otherwise you can only make your nails worse, as a result, they will become thinner even more.

3. Use cuticle oils. I probably write about this in almost every article about nail care. Cuticle oils moisturize it and have a beneficial effect on the growing nail plate.

And I will dispel one huge myth that the Internet is filled with

Salt baths do not strengthen nails, this is an illusion. Salt tends to crystallize. Nails are made up of many layers (and if you ripped off the old coating, you will see it clearly). When you make baths with salt, the nails absorb moisture, soften and salt gets between these layers and crystallizes.

Visually, nails really seem to us stronger, but these are just salt crystals. As soon as you wash your hands several times, the salt will be washed off and your nails will return to their previous state. So the procedure is essentially a waste of time.
