Their fragrances are chosen by the Queen of Great Britain: Molton Brown shower gels review

This year I am planning to acquaint you with British brands of cosmetics and perfume. About them not that little is said. It's just that there are now an abundance of blogs and reviews on Korean cosmetics. Or French perfume. And from English brands we know only about Tom Ford with an exorbitant cost, about the works of Gese Schoene - the well-known mono-aromas Molecules and Escentric. And of course - Joe Malone, Barbery, Creed, Alexander McQueen at the price of a kidney for a small bottle.

Today I would like to introduce you to Molton Brown perfumed shower gels. I was surprised that on Fragrantica, reviews on the products of this brand could be counted on the fingers of one hand.

Although their shower gels, for example, are used by the Queen of Great Britain, Elizabeth II. Here, look at the bottle with the logo of the Royal Order, i.e. the products are supplied to the royal family. This also suggests that the manufacturer's prestige has reached a ceiling.

Molton Brown shower gels and premium soaps can be found in the rooms of five-star hotels. For example, in the Cyprus FOUR SEASONS LIMASSOL or the New York Le Parker Meridien.

I'll run ahead. Do not think that since the Queen herself uses Molton Brown cosmetics, then she has an exorbitant value. This is not true.

I ordered my husband a travel kit (and also, to get acquainted with several fragrances at once) and yourself a bottle of 300 ml shower gel with coconut and sandalwood extracts.

First, I'll write my opinion about the latter.

Molton Brown Coco & Sandalwood Body Wash. Convenient dispenser, does not foam much, really coconut and sandalwood in the aroma. In this union, the coconut sounds brighter. What I like about Molton Brown is the subtlety of the scent, I wrote about this for a long time. It is not chemical, there is no all this creaminess, dustiness, bustle with the same citrus notes. Everything smells natural, sophisticated, expensive, even I would say - intimate. In terms of durability: if you take a shower before going to bed, then the smell of soft sandal will not leave.

Moving on to the "babies" from the men's travel kit. Here I will list in order from worst to best in my opinion.

Orange & Bergamot (Seville Orange and Bergamot Extract). It seems like this is the very first fragrance in the history of the brand. They claim that this scent will help you find yourself in Spain. But I don’t remember that in Barcelona, for example, there was a smell of bath soap. I didn't like the smell, it looks like a really old bath soap from childhood. Neroli is definitely caught here. It's good that this aroma lasts for a couple of hours.

Infusing Eucalyptus (eucalyptus extract). Needles and mint are well heard in the bottle, the aroma is very invigorating. But after being applied to the skin, the aroma changes towards some kind of pharmacy ointment with eucalyptus. It doesn't fly off the skin quickly, it starts to get boring. I think this is for fans of the extreme niche. But not mine for sure.

Vetiver & Grapefruit (vetiver and grapefruit extract). Already more interesting: the bitterness of the grapefruit rind (not the zest, but the white part), slightly softened by vetiver. You can also hear lychee and amber. Soft, pleasant and slightly liqueur aroma. It's enough to get to know each other once, but I personally won't buy it again. The husband is also cold-blooded to this scent.

Bracing Silverbirch (invigorating silver branch). Closer to fougere aromas. It smells of freshness, aquatic, a little jasmine and incense sneaks in. Yes, it’s not bad, it’s just that it loses out to the other 4 aromas :-) It is rather weak in durability, disappears after 2 hours.

Bushukan (Thai citron extract with maple sugar). This is a godsend for me. I am not surprised with tuberoses, irises, ylang-ylang, black orchids. But the aroma of Bushukan impressed: something balsamic, but not pharmacy and not heavily candied, neroli in maple syrup with spices. It unfolds in different ways. In the evening I did not like him, but in the afternoon I really liked my husband. Something balanced between natural medicinal herbs, citrus and cocktail syrup.

Tobacco Absolute (tobacco). I really love leather scents, especially on my man. And this gel smells like damp tobacco leaves and a leather jacket. Brutality and freshness in one bottle. Average persistence. Honorable third place in my top.

Re-charge Black Pepper (Madagascar black pepper extract). Of the Moltons, men have the most popular scent. And for a reason. Ringing pepper, fresh coriander, a very expensive scent that will saturate your entire bedroom after your man takes a shower with this gel.

Coastal Cypress & Sea Fennel (cypress and sea fennel extract) - the undisputed winner, our opinions with my husband regarding the best gel of the eight presented agreed. It seemed to my husband similar to Givenchy Blue Label, to me - from Whiskey Silver, if anyone remembers :-)

Sea, salt, freshness of cardamom and jasmine. When you want to drop everything and fly to the sea, but work and personal problems do not let you go, you can be content with taking a bath with this beach gel. Of the 8 travel bottles, the only one that my husband and I managed to use up in 3 months to half :-) in terms of durability: 6-7 hours of beach vacation on your skin are guaranteed.

Here is such a small review for Molton Brown, I will continue to get acquainted with the rest of their products.
