7 bad habits that spoil our hair

Every day we subject our hair to considerable tests, sometimes we don't even know about it. In today's post I will tell you what not to do if we want to keep our hair healthy and beautiful.

1. Wash my hair wrong

The first danger lies in wait for us when washing our hair. Some of us wash our hair in very hot water, which in turn opens up the flakes of the hair, causing it to lose its shine.

If you cannot change the habit of washing your hair with hot water, then after shampooing, rinse your hair with cold water to close the hair scales. Better yet, use a hair conditioner. Its basic function is to close the hair scales.

2. When washing, apply shampoo to the entire hair length

This is how we ourselves dry our hair without knowing it. It will be enough to apply shampoo to the scalp. Don't worry: the length will also clear up when you rinse off the shampoo, this is enough to keep your hair clean. And economically, you can spend money on a decent professional shampoo with more gentle surfactants.

3. Rub your hair with a coarse terry towel

After washing our hair, we make the second mistake - three hairs with a terry towel, and we walk with it on our head for almost an hour.

Our hair "doesn't like" being in a humid environment for a long time. It's all about the hydrogen bonds of the hair. I will not describe that hair consists of several million protein chains of a complex structure with various bonds, including hydrogen bonds. I already had this material.

I will only repeat that hydrogen bonds break down quickly due to water and a humid environment. Do not be afraid: due to the destruction of hydrogen bonds, the hair is easily stretched. But when it dries, the bonds are restored, and the hair does not fix its original shape, but the current one (i.e. at the moment).

I advise you to refuse a coarse terry towel, replace it with a cotton cloth. And even better - on silk towels (it is difficult to find them, you can sew by yourself). In no case should you rub your hair, just blot your hair.

4. Ignore leave-in products

We are talking about conditioners, serums, milk, etc.

Leave-in products facilitate combing, nourish and protect hair. The essence of the protection, who has already read the above carefully, is at least that the scales cover the cortex and the hair shaft.

They are more effective than those products that we are used to washing off, because their effect does not stop at washing off, but you should not neglect the wash-off care.

5. Hair Drying

Not everyone knows that if you choose between drying with a hair dryer and drying naturally, it is better to choose drying with a hair dryer. Especially if your hair is thick and long.

The only thing is, you don't need to dry your hair at very hot temperatures. And when drying with a hairdryer, do not forget that you need to dry your hair from top to bottom and do not hold the hairdryer in one place for a long time.

There are a lot of good professional hair dryers today, and not more expensive than 3000 rubles.

6. Hair ties

We replace the usual elastic bands with silk, silk is less traumatic for the hair, especially when we remove the elastic from the hair, grabbing a couple of healthy hairs.

I don't think it will be difficult for you to remember one unspoken rule: hair like silk. This is not a marketing gimmick, silk itself is a very interesting material. For example, human skin and silk are composed of 18 amino acids, and the structure of a thread of silk is almost identical to human hair.

In practice, stylists have come to love silk because it is the only material that makes styling survive the night.

7. Pillowcase

We traumatize every night (it is more correct, of course, to say - we break the structure) hair and are completely unaware of it. And our pillowcases are to blame.

Friction of the hair against the pillowcase contributes to its dryness, and as a result - to the section. It is better to replace it with silk pillowcases, they are useful not only for the health of hair, but also for the skin of the face.
