Why I love parboiled rice, and why I advise everyone to include it in their diet

Recently I went into the Metro and was very surprised: people seem to be preparing for a terrible apocalypse and are not going to leave the house for a year. The groats shelves were really empty at the speed of sound (I don't know how they are now, but last weekend I witnessed such a gastronomic panic myself). And first of all, they swept buckwheat from the shelves. The first thing I thought was: "Why not parboiled rice?".

We will talk about him today.

Of all the carbohydrates, rice is perhaps the most "beneficial" for our body. Unlike any pasta, it does not burden the stomach, it is digested easily and easily. It quickly replenishes glycogen for us, and it has a very decent set of micronutrients that will help you get benefits from food, not just a gastronomic orgasm.

But steamed rice has more interesting "pluses". Unlike white rice, steamed rice contains more fiber, and the glycemic index is 2.5 times lower (for details - read nutritionist sandy bush material, which publishes literate notes for hospitals).

Plain white rice does indeed have a very high glycemic index, which is not very good for the health of people prone to type 2 diabetes (detailed study here).

As for brown rice, with all its micronutrient advantages (there are slightly more of them than in parboiled rice) there is one drawback - the presence of phytic acid, which blocks the absorption of minerals and protein, and also greatly overloads the digestive system.

In parboiled rice, in addition to vitamins of group B (by the way, it contains more B1 and B6 than white polished rice), calcium, potassium, iron, copper and manganese contain zinc - a very important element that forms the structure of proteins and even participates in the regulation DNA. Without zinc, our immune system weakens and is unable to produce cells that will fight infections. And now, as you know, this is one of the topical topics of discussion.

Basically, this information is enough to understand why I love parboiled rice. Easily absorbed, you get the right amount of carbohydrates without the risk of diabetes, vitamins, zinc and other micronutrients. In this case, the stomach is not heavily loaded.
