10 slimming lessons: how you can (and don't) dress with a full figure

Holders of a full figure are well aware of how important details are in clothes. There are no trifles in plus size, so the wrong cut, fabric texture, wrong length and color can emphasize figure flaws, instead of hiding them.

Here are 10 examples of how small image details can affect the same shape. All photos show the same model! All illustrations are taken from the "Big sizes" catalog of the Wildberries online store.

1. Soft, flowing fabrics instead of rigid cuts

Packing a figure in fabric is not the same as presenting it correctly. Often women use the wrong technique, choosing tough fabrics and a tightly closed throat or a small rounded neck, thereby only increasing the effect of weight. Thin fabric that flows softly over the figure, in combination with the V-neck, always gives an advantageous look.

2. Offset color accents

A sundress worn on a blouse is the perfect embodiment of a layered and feminine business style. However, with a wide waist, you need to pay attention to the color scheme. In the first version, a dusty pink sundress visually protrudes forward, emphasizing the massiveness of the figure. In the second version, the emphasis is drawn on the blouse thanks to its juicy red color, so the torso is no longer so striking.

3. Textured asymmetry instead of straight lines

Asymmetry is a faithful friend of a full figure, the features of which are visually redistributed. On the other hand, the even, symmetrical design of clothes attracts attention. In the first version, the dress emphasizes the width of the hips, making them even wider. In the second case, the asymmetry and textured cut make the look playful and modern, drawing a slimmer upper body zone.

4. Correct top length

If the outfit is in two pieces, you need to be very careful about the line of visual separation. In the first version, the shirt is too spacious and short, and the trousers are too light, all this focuses attention on the figure, making it more massive, reducing growth. In the second version, we see the same woman who looks much slimmer, all at the expense of black trousers and a slightly longer white shirt in a tight cut. Long beads additionally stretch the image vertically, enhancing the illusion of slimness.

5. Optical illusion effect instead of rare color contrasts

The stripe and color block effect with accent colors can be different, both winning and inappropriate. In the first version, a light stripe at the waist is striking, which only emphasizes its width, and gray inserts on the pockets and the trim of the neckline do not save the situation. A completely different thing is a striped dress, which creates the effect of an optical illusion, and in itself looks stylish and versatile.

6. Vertical silhouette lines instead of horizontal lines

The perception of a full figure is highly dependent on whether the clothing lines create a horizontal or vertical effect. In the first case, a blouse over a shirt divides the figure in half, emphasizing the width of the waist and hips. In the second version, the ideal vertical line of the figure was created due to a long sleeveless jacket, worn over the same white shirt.

7. Monochrome instead of two colors

Two absolutely identical outfits, which differ only in the color of the skirt of the same style, plus, different shoes. In the first case, the skirt stands out against the background of a black turtleneck, which divides the figure into two parts. In the second variant, with the same initial data, we have a monochrome effect, due to which the figure looks "monolithic", therefore, attention is not focused on its completeness.

8. Skirt-year instead of trousers

A year skirt flawlessly copes with disguising full legs, including leather. In the example, the pants are leather and tight-fitting, which, of course, enhances the fullness visually. But even if they were more spacious and matte, they would hardly be more advantageous for the figure than the skirt, which draws the reference A-shaped silhouette "hourglass".

9. Cut "bat" instead of "balloon"

A spacious cut of a dress is not always good for a full figure. A simple example is the opposition of a bat silhouette, a free top, a balloon or cocoon design. The latter sometimes makes a slender figure overweight, shortening growth.

10. A shirt instead of a tunic

As a rule, plus size women love tunics. They forget that although this clothing disguises fullness, sometimes it makes the figure, and with it the whole image, shapeless and loose. Another thing is a shirt that picks it up, outlines it, makes it decorated and, of course, stylish, suitable for any occasion.
