I want to tell you a story about how you should not always trust free medicine, and also about the fact that a district police officer can be replaced absolutely free of charge.
Grandfather is 83 years old, he lives alone. Grandmother died 10 years ago, he did not want to live with one of the children or grandchildren. Leads quite an active lifestyle: goes to the store, walks in the park, reads a lot and hardly watches TV. He is absolutely in a bright mind, even tried to understand the computer, but it did not work out very well.
Treated for fungus
I often come to visit: either to help or just to chat. On one of my visits, he showed a dark toenail and said that he became like that in just a few days. I immediately offered to call a paid doctor, but the old people are not used to such services. I took time off from work the next day, after calling the district police officer.
The doctor came, snorted for a long time and filled out some papers. From a distance, at a distance of two meters, I looked at my grandfather's legs, said "fungus" and prescribed some drugs. I asked to examine the leg more carefully, to which she said that she already sees everything perfectly and the fungus can distinguish it from other diseases.
My mother, her brother and sister began to travel every day, make lotions, smear with all kinds of drugs: but it only got worse. Then we did not give a damn about all grandfather's embarrassment, called a paid doctor who said that this is how gangrene begins.
Everything turned out to be much more dangerous
The treatment was difficult, but we managed to stop the problem, including thanks to minimal surgical intervention: in parallel, we treated and strengthened the vessels. In one clinic, I needed my grandfather's card, and I went to the same precinct.
When the doctor heard the name in the office, she looked at me carefully, and apparently remembered. She searched for the map in silence, I could not resist and asked why she was not interested in the patient's condition at her site. Then I said that her diagnosis was wrong, and if not for our love and care, everything could have been much worse.
The doctor lowered her eyes and quietly apologized - I did not need her apology, but it became easier on my soul. Maybe this will be the lesson after which she will be more attentive to older patients.
You can change the district police officer in the clinic
When I needed to go to the polyclinic again for a sick leave for myself, I definitely understood that to see this I can’t be a woman, so I wrote a refusal of her services at the reception and I was assigned to another site, without problems.
