Hello! I have been working as a doctor for 22 years. My name is Georgy Olegovich Sapego. Today I will tell you about the statements about cystitis that puzzled me.
Those guys who write about health and give good links to sources have published an article about the treatment of cystitis at home. But again they got something wrong.
So the guys write that to relieve the symptoms of cystitis, you need to urinate often. Moreover, they write separately that you need to drink a lot of fluids, and separately - that you need to urinate often.
Guys, they misunderstood something. Frequent urination with cystitis is usually painful. Need to drink more fluids - yes. But this does not mean that you will often have to run to the toilet from the liquid you drink. It may well be that the water will feel better and you will have to run even less often than to the water. Well, it is clear that no one will specially go to the toilet on schedule, because it hurts.
Then it is advised to wipe from front to back after visiting the toilet.
In fact, it would be useful for preventing cystitis, but it will not help with existing cystitis. Let me remind you that this was all written in the treatment section.
It is further advised to wash the sensitive areas around the genitals with soap with a "normal pH".
This item is also in the treatment section. And then, I confess, I got a little stuck. What are the sensitive areas around the genitals? It's just skin that is really best washed not too brutally.
And what is normal pH? Is it neutral? Or sour as feminine hygiene gel? Unclear.
In short, it is useful to wash there for the prevention of cystitis, in order to wash out intestinal microbes from the skin, but without excessive zeal, so as not to irritate the skin on which the infection can settle. Something like this…
Well, there were also all sorts of strange British recommendations, such as that if a woman has been sick for a long time and does not suffer much, then she should see a doctor only after three days. Personally, I advise you to see your urologist early.
It’s a bit heavy, they’re explaining it all. Have you had any misunderstandings with such recommendations?
