How to learn not to touch your face

Hello! I have been a doctor for 21 years. My name is Georgy Olegovich Sapego. In this article, I'll talk about how to learn not to touch your face.

It is believed that the infection that causes pneumonia is transmitted not so much through spitting and sneezing, but through touching the face with dirty hands. If the infection gets into the eyes, nose or mouth, it will penetrate through the mucous membrane into our body, and the infection will begin. If you do not touch your face with dirty hands, you can protect yourself from infection.

There are many different tricks that can help keep you from scratching your face. In any case, do not rely on them, but often wash your hands with soap or a sanitizer.

Cosmetics

Women can benefit from cosmetics. Many are afraid to lubricate this case and do not touch their face. If you know yourself and think that you can get it, then try it.

Bangs

Remove the bangs. Grow, pull, comb, or pin your hair, but no bangs. Because of the bangs, people constantly crawl their hands into their faces.

Masks

Many people think that the easiest way is to wear a mask and glasses. They will not allow you to get your hands in your face. This is not the first time I have come across this recommendation, so I bring it here.

I personally don't like this recommendation. I constantly see how people straighten their masks and touch their face. And I know for sure that our people are not accustomed to washing their hands. Therefore, each time they will correct the mask with dirty hands.

Not only is it possible to put the infection on the face with your hands, but the mask itself also works as a collection of infection.

The mask protects us from viruses and keeps them out of the nose and mouth. But the mask works like a vacuum cleaner. And it retains drops of other people's snot, saliva and phlegm. After a while, it turns into a real flower bed, a breeding ground for infection.

If a person straightens such a mask, then the infection falls into his hands. And if a person does not use a sanitizer on the street, then next time he will crawl into his nose, mouth or eyes with the same hands. So I don't trust all these masks on the street. But that's my personal opinion.

Take your hands

Keep your hands busy with small objects. Twirl in your hands what you took from home. Some kind of keychain or bracelet.

Place a rubber band around your wrist. It can be fingered with your fingers.

If you got into your face with dirty hands, you can pull off the rubber band and click on the inside of your wrist. It hurts, and this is how a conditioned reflex is developed.

Try to keep your hands busy by drawing some pointless nonsense or patterns on a piece of paper.

Cheating

If your face itches, scratch something else. Rub your fingers or other part of your body. Sometimes this can satisfy the need for scratching.

Tie your hands

If you are sitting anywhere, slip your fingers under your buttocks. This will make it difficult to scratch your face.

You can braid the fingers of both hands and put your hands in front of you.

Car

On the rear-view mirror in the car, glue a piece of paper with the words "do not touch!" She can pull you down in time if you want to correct something on your face.

Gloves

If people are wearing gloves, they usually touch the face less often.

Treat your hands with a sanitizer

You will forget all the same and get into your face with dirty hands. This happens automatically. But you don't have to wait and remember. Just dully sanitize your hands after every contact with ANY object outside the home. If you pressed the elevator button, then treat your hands. If you've opened your driveway, treat your hands. This is good practice.

Exercise

If you sit quietly at home and you have clean hands, then try not to scratch your face for as long as possible if it is your itching. This will help you understand that the itching goes away pretty quickly, even without any scratching. Practice in advance!

Perfume

Try cologne on your hands. The pungent odor can scare your nose away and you will pull your hand away from your face. This is also a kind of training.

Personally, I have a desire to mix vigorous menthol or pepper into the sanitizer to stop people from prying into their eyes. How do you like the idea?
