Modest fashion, or the so-called modest fashion, for many to this day evokes associations with hijabs, burqas and other attributes of the wardrobe of Arab women. However, closed dresses (not to be confused with “blankets” that cover the body from head to toe) are rapidly gaining popularity and have even moved to the catwalks of fashion shows. Modern designers do not like to be boring and easily adapted modest fashion to the current trend.
For me, modest fashion is, first of all, comfortable. I love this direction for the fact that you can wear clothes that do not hinder movement and do not emphasize extra pounds. In such outfits, you can not worry that the strap of the bra will accidentally appear, or the prankster wind will lift a short skirt.
In this article, I share my vision of the philosophy of modest fashion.
The boundaries are wide
As I mentioned above, humility is not synonymous with boring. Thanks to the oversize, we are accustomed to loose silhouettes and oversized, exaggerated cut. And we know how to look stylish in a balloon dress and palazzo trousers.
To the characteristic details of the style modest fashion relate:
- closed neck;
- midi and maxi length;
- loose sleeves;
- wide silhouettes.
So, in my first three looks, loose-fitting trousers dominate. Yes, they do not emphasize the features of the figure and look very relaxed, but at the same time they sit well, do not put on weight and, due to the high waist, stretch the silhouette. I selected different tops for them. As you can see, the shirt looks great both as a stand-alone unit and as a second layer. In its place, by the way, there could be an elongated caftan made of thin translucent fabric. Note that in the second image, the arms are open. Despite the fact that there is no waist in the silhouette, due to the correct length of the knitted vest, the proportions of the figure are balanced.
Modesty adorns
Simple solid fabrics and voluminous silhouettes don't make me a simpleton. Both dresses are successfully combined with spectacular accessories. In the outfits I have selected, there are no aggressive shades and prints, instead of them there are natural natural tones, I would call them basic. The beauty is that they mix well with each other. You can easily call such a wardrobe "smart".
Fans of modest fashion have long gone beyond a closed neckline and maxi length in their looks. Godet skirts, layered outfits, palazzo trousers, elongated jackets, tunics and even culottes or bell-bottomed jeans are quite consistent with the "shy" wardrobe
By the way, the fashion for naturalness is also relevant in the beauty industry. Pounds of cosmetics, fake eyelashes, sparkles and rhinestones have been replaced by the trend for ala-natural makeup. In the presented images, I don't have scarlet lipstick, although it suits me.
I would like to note that my options are a free interpretation of modest fashion. You can wear closed-toe outfits simply because you are comfortable in them, without being tied to any fashion trend.
I find experimenting with modest wardrobe combinations even more fun than experimenting with micro tops and ultra-short dresses. Simple and straightforward styling usually requires a certain amount of ingenuity.
