This is not the first time I have come across recommendations for men to be careful with soy - they say, there are female hormones estrogens in it, and you will not notice how "he became a woman in the morning."
Of course, none of these recommendations have any scientific basis.
Most of all soybeans in the world are eaten in Japan, and somehow I have not come across shocking facts that in this country of samurai there are any problems with masculinity.
But there are statistics that the Japanese live almost the longest in the world, and to the end of their lives they maintain an active life position. And this is largely due to their concept of nutrition. They begin to receive soy even in utero, and it accompanies them until the end of their lives.
The confusion with soy occurs due to the fact that its active components act on the same receptors that estrogens - female hormones - act on. Therefore, in the minds of not very informed people, the misconception has arisen that soy-based products also cause the effects of estrogen.
But this is not the case.
There are two estrogen receptors in the human body - alpha and beta. The alpha receptor is oncogenic - when activated, the risk of cancer increases. Beta prescriptions, on the contrary, are oncoprotective - they protect against tumors.
So here soy (actually two of its important components - genostein and daidzin) blocks oncogenic alpha receptors and activates protective beta receptors.
So treat soy as a wonderful gift from nature in the fight against cancer.
The second reason to eat soy is it is an excellent source of protein. Of course, animal protein contains more essential amino acids, but among plant proteins, soy is the best and most assimilable.
