In 2017, Japanese scientists published research results, in which within 12 weeks, that is, 3 months, 16 men with normal weight and 28 men with overweight and / or obesity, the entire designated period of time regularly have been aerobic varying degrees of intensity - mild, moderate and intense.

Before and after all men took a blood test for the level of total and free testosterone. The level of free testosterone was significantly lower in obese men than in those who were not overweight (p <0.01, that is, these results were significant).

After 12 weeks of aerobic exercise, testosterone levels were significantly higher in obese men (p <0.01). These data were confirmed by various methods of statistical analysis, including stepwise multivariate linear regression analysis that showed that increased physical activity was independently associated with an increase in total testosterone (β = 0.47, p = 0.011).

What happened to men of normal weight? Their testosterone levels also increased, but not as significantly as those who were initially overweight.

Very often, against the background of significant weight loss and increased physical activity in such patients, spouses became pregnant, and this would not have happened if the testosterone level had not increased and would not have stimulated an improvement in spermatogenesis. At the same time, before weight loss, pregnancy did not occur in girlfriends for several years.

Thus, the hypothesis was confirmed that regular physical activity improves the situation with testosterone in men.

IN another study Korean scientists set out to find out exactly which exercises contribute to increasing testosterone levels.

All blood samples were taken to determine baseline testosterone levels, bioimpedance analysis of body composition was performed, and baseline physical fitness was assessed. The average testosterone level was 11.88 nmol / L, which in the presence of symptoms of testosterone deficiency is considered an insufficient level of total testosterone for a healthy man.

Three times a week, the men did 7 exercises sequentially:

20 minutes of aerobics (running, brisk walking)

10 minutes full body stretching

30 minutes of strength training

10 minutes aerobic.

The results of the study are as follows: only the ergometric test for cardiorespiratory training showed a reliable, that is, an objective positive relationship with the level of testosterone in the blood.

I.e, the better the indicators of cardiopulmonary system endurance grow during aerobic physical activity, the better testosterone is synthesized. And one more conclusion: with a decrease in the volume of adipose tissue and especially visceral tissue, serum testosterone levels in men with erectile dysfunction may increase. Is this the light at the end of the tunnel?)
