In one of the episodes "Magnificent Century", Señora Gabriella presents Mahidevran with a special gift - a beautiful and unusual mirror.
When presenting the gift, Gabriella told a legend. The mirror is called "the mirror of sin" - it protects the owner from all sins.
But, if you yourself commit a sin, the mirror will break or crack and then the gates of misery will open.
Makhidevran, like any medieval woman, believed in tradition, but nevertheless she committed a sin, letting troubles into her house.
When the sultan orders Mustafa to leave Manisa and move to Amasya, Shahzade falls into depression, believing that he has lost the trust of the ruler, for which he was expelled from his paradise.
But what about? He is the firstborn, who was taught from childhood that he was the heir to the Ottoman Empire. And here he is sent to another sanjak, and Mehmet is put to rule Manisa. So he started drooling, considering that everyone had abandoned him.
Makhidevran, seeing the condition of his son, decides to clear the way for him, and orders his faithful servant to get even with Mehmet.
When Fidan comes to the lady’s chambers to report that Mehmet has departed to another world, the mirror falls and a crack forms on it.
The impressionable Mahidevran understands that for the completed sin, now retribution will follow. And indeed, troubles on the head of the mistress begin to pour one after another.
First, an attempt on Mustafa. But fortunately, his pregnant concubine Rumeisa covers her lover with her body, thereby at the cost of her life and an unborn child, saves the life of Shahzade.
Then the execution of Shahzade and the impoverished old age of Mahidevran herself.
Was it payback for the ruined life of an innocent person, or was it a chain of coincidences.
But, Mahidevran was sure that she herself opened the gates of misfortunes that fell on her.
