Ibrahim Pasha served the Ottoman dynasty for 16 years, of which 13 years he held the honorary position of Grand Vizier. He was a good warrior and an excellent politician and strategist, which allowed him to achieve resounding victories in all areas.
The high position, honor and complete confidence of the sovereign turned the head of the grand vizier, and he began to extol himself, almost higher than the sultan himself. This is what caused his execution.
After the execution of Ibrahim Pasha, in the history of the Ottoman Empire, there were 4 more grand viziers, but none of them could hold on to this position for so long.
Ayas Mehmed Pasha
Intelligent, understanding, fair, but not far-sighted Ayas Pasha began his activities in the Ottoman Empire during the reign of Selim I.
After the execution of Ibrahim Pasha, Suleiman appoints Ayas as Grand Vizier. But the pasha lasted only 3 years in this position (1536-1539). During this time, he managed to visit military campaigns to Corfu and Moldavia.
In 1539, Ayas Mehmed Pasha gave his soul to Allah and left this world. The cause of death is the plague.
Chelebi Lutfi Pasha
Lutfi Pasha was a stern and cruel man. As Suleman's son-in-law, after the death of Ayas, the post of grand vizier goes to him. But the period of power did not last long, only 2 years (1539-1541).
After a divorce from his wife, he was removed from his post and sent to Dimetoku.
Khadim Suleiman Pasha
Khadim-Pasha began his service in the Sultan's harem, as an ordinary eunuch, but for his numerous merits he quickly began to receive more and more new positions.
In 1541 he became one of the most powerful people in the empire. Also Khadim - Pasha became the son-in-law of the sovereign, having married the obstinate sister Fatma.
In 1544, a quarrel broke out between Khadim and Husrev on the advice of the sofa, which turned into a fight. All this happened in the presence of the sovereign, as a result of which both Pashas were removed from their posts.
He held an honorary position for just over 3 years (April 1541 November 1544).
Damat Rustem Pasha
In November 1539, the former groom Rustem Pasha married the only daughter of the sovereign, Mihrimah. After Khadim Pasha was removed from his post, Rustem Pasha (1544) took the position of Grand Vizier, not without the help of Khyurrem.
But after the execution of the elder Shahzadeh Mustafa (October 1553), the Janissaries raised a revolt against Rustem, considering him guilty of the death of the beloved Shahzadeh.
For the sake of his beloved daughter, Suleiman decides not to execute Rustem and sends him into exile in Uskudar. The exile lasted a year, after which Suleiman returns him to the capital and returns the post of Grand Vizier.
Rustem died in 1561. The cause of death is not known for certain, but presumably from dropsy.
