At the beginning of the series “Love versus Fate”, the relationship between Kiimet-khanum and his younger daughter-in-law was warm and friendly. And it was to her that Defne approached with the idea of surrogate motherhood.
Kiimet-khanum supported this idea, and even helped to implement it. So the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law had a little secret that united women, but over time it grew like a snowball.
Over time, a common secret became the cause of discord between women. Defne found out that her mother-in-law deceived her, and she is not the mother of a child who is being carried by a surrogate mother. And Kiimet-khanum found out that it was Defna who gave Elif the medicine to terminate her pregnancy.
Warm relations between women grew into eternal insults and accusations. Defne would like to happily end all this and return to her former relationship with her husband. She was ready to tell everything to Zia Bey, but Kiimet Khanym, then, would have revealed her secret to Kahraman.
Defne was tired of lying and often at the family table, she said that she did not feel pregnant. And then the maid found her with a glass of whiskey.
Kiimet-khanim, having learned about this, went to her daughter-in-law's room in order to somehow enlighten her.
But Defne again began to accuse Kahraman's mother that it was she who ruined the life of her and her husband. Of course, Defne was right. Kahraman's mother made a decision that she had no right to make.
But Kiimet-khanum did not consider herself guilty, and said to Defne:
- Do you know what I see when I look at you? The woman who couldn't give birth. A cruel man who tried to poison a pregnant woman in order not to lose her husband. If you had even the slightest feeling of motherhood, you would not be able to do this. The creator knows his business! No wonder he sent you this grief.
For Defne these words were humiliating and painfully reflected in her heart. But she could not answer, only just drove her mother-in-law, and then broke the glass on the door through which she left.
