Kahraman always treated his wife Defna with tenderness and awe. But this was not enough for a woman. In their "small" family, one thing was missing - children.
It's hard to say what prompted Defne to make the decision about surrogacy. Her own desire to take her baby in her arms, or the desire of her husband's parents, to have a grandson. Nevertheless, the decision was made and a woman appeared in the young family who agreed to carry a child for the couple.
Everything was fine, but at one point Defne finds out that she is not the mother of this child. Of course, no one could have found out about this secret, and Defne would have raised the baby as her own.
But after some deliberation, she decides to stop all this. Defne gives Elif milk with a dangerous potion, from which the woman is seriously threatened with miscarriage.
Why did Defne do this? Why did she decide to give up her dream of giving a grandson to the Uruk-khans' family?
Elif settled in the house of the Uruk-khans and Kahraman spent more time with the girl than with his wife. Kahraman was the first to hear the baby's heartbeat when Defne stood aside. Defne did not feel like a mother, and the thought that another woman was pregnant from her husband ate her from the inside.
Jealousy and fear of losing her husband, for Defne became stronger than the desire to become a mother. And, in order to return the old days, Defne decides to get rid of the one that disturbed their family peace.
