How did you protect your home from everything bad in the old days?

The door to your home can be very strong, beautiful and sturdy, and this has an additional impact on protecting your home from negative energies. But this is not all protection, because evil can still get into your home. How can you stop evil and not allow it to cross the threshold? Read on.

For minimal protection of the house, you can hang a horseshoe above the front door. But in order to enter the house, you must first cross the threshold, which also has its own magical features.

Home protection threshold

Even in ancient times it was said that the threshold is of great importance in protecting the home from everything bad. The protection of the threshold is that it can remove bad energy from a person who comes into the house. Our ancestors were very much afraid of the evil eye and damage, therefore, in particular, they took it seriously, protecting the threshold of the house as reliably as possible.

When a house is being built or repairs are being made in an apartment, you need to choose for the threshold those building materials that can remove negative energy and anger, and also neutralizes people entering the dwelling who have bad intentions. These materials are marble, aspen, spruce. And in the old days they buried a rooster under the threshold... Or a bottle without a bottom with the neck up.

How else can you protect your home?

In ancient times, it was believed that outside a person's dwelling there was something hostile and mysterious, therefore, the threshold, door and windows were protected as best they could. The line between the area outside the home and the home itself was strengthened physically and energetically. But what did they do so that all evil spirits and evil people did not enter the dwelling!

  • Onions or garlic were hung at the entrance. Most often in a bundle, in the form of a broom, above the door.
  • They poured a fur coat at the threshold. It doesn't matter what animal fur you use.
  • A knife or needles were stuck into the door jamb. By the way, evil people also stuck needles in order to damage, but they also played the role of a talisman.

These methods are still used now, even if they seem funny to someone. And also opposite the door in the corridor it is worth placing the icon of Nicholas the Pleasant, the Ostrobramskaya Mother of God or the Seven-shot.

Hallway protection

We discussed the entrance to the house, but the first room a person enters into when he comes to visit is the hallway. If the corridor or hallway has a large area, then they will absorb more energy. Whether good or bad depends on your guest. Therefore, it is important to protect the corridor so that only positive energy enters the rest of the rooms.

A great helper in this is a mirror. Mirrors have long been considered guides to the other world, and they were treated with extreme caution. And you need to be very careful about where the mirror is located. Do not hang mirrors in front of the front door, or so that they are located opposite each other.

You can protect your home with the help of, for example, a thistle. It is hung over the front door and in the corners of the rooms. It used to be believed that this plant helps to protect the house from all evil spirits.

I in no way insist on the veracity of these signs, but simply told how people defended their home in the old days. Everyone decides for himself whether to believe him in omens or not. But, is there anything in this? After all, our ancestors believed that in the above ways they put reliable protection on their home. What do you think about this? Or maybe you know some other ways to protect your home from all evil, old or modern - it doesn't matter? Be sure to share them in the comments!
