The main principles of raising a child, according to a psychologist

The child needs to be loved the way he is! Despite the fact that the baby can show disobedience, possibly aggression and other negative qualities, he must be loved with all his heart!

All parents want to teach their children various virtues, but sometimes they make mistakes because of their excessive zeal. They forget that children come to this world without any knowledge, and gain their experience only in the process of growing up, and they take all their skills and knowledge from the people around them.

Sometimes parents, trying to protect children from hardships and problems, do not allow children to show independence. And the child lives with the knowledge that this is how everything should be. Some children succumb to the manipulations of their parents, while others, as often happens, on the contrary, resist all the requests and demands of adults. In this case, the child has a complete contradiction, he even denies what he considers to be true, and can act to the detriment of himself and others.

How to raise a child, and what mistakes should not be made?

Never compare your child to other children. There is no need to use the principle of "competition" in education. Each kid has his own individual characteristics, talents, well, or their absence in some areas. Someone is strong in music, someone draws excellently, someone sings, and someone has good physical characteristics. But you don't have to row everyone with the same brush.

There is no need to overload the child with responsibility and deeds. All babies have a right to childhood. It is important to feel balance here. Of course, it is not necessary to do absolutely everything for the child, depriving him of the opportunity to become independent, but it is also not necessary with childhood, treat him like an adult, his peer, and not give him the opportunity to deal with his children's deeds. Let him walk, play, chat with friends, etc.

You can't be overly proud of your baby's success. No, you, of course, can be "proud", but do not show your excessive pride. Praise for achievement and merit should be in moderation

Do not seek to raise too correct a person out of a child. Of course, this is undoubtedly good when a person throughout his life strictly observes the laws of a moral, ethical and social nature. But you should always take into account the fact that constantly conforming to the rules, a person loses his individuality. It just becomes a gray mass, it becomes the same as everyone else.

You need to trust your child. Try to trust him to carry out any assignments. So the baby will strive for independence, and a sense of responsibility will begin to grow in him.

It is not necessary to choose a profession instead of a child. Let's say your whole family consists of doctors, you don't need to instill in your child from childhood that healing and helping sick people is his vocation. Well, or you have a family of teachers, military, etc. Try to take into account the wishes of the baby, because he will spend years on training and becoming in the profession, but he will not be happy if he begins to do what is not for him soul.

Teach your child not to judge people by their first impression. It is often deceiving. By the way, let me give myself an example. It somehow happened in my life that if I get to know a person and he is very pleasant to me, then over time he denounces himself from the worst sides. And vice versa, when a person somehow did not like me, over time I suddenly realize that he is beautiful, with his soul, heart, humanity. The child needs to be taught that if a person has any flaws in appearance or behavior, this does not mean that he is bad.

Pay attention to your child's character. It is the character of a person that determines many of his qualities. If you want to achieve some results from the child, and he is not adapted to this in any way, then you can simply break his character! And then, having turned into an adult, he will become spineless, driven and dependent on the opinions of others.

As you can see, everything is very simple. I agree that we cannot be ideal parents for our little ones, but we must try to keep parenting mistakes to a minimum!
