In the spring, tomato bushes gain excellent color, but then, for some reason, some of the flowers simply disappear. This means that there will be much less ovaries than there were flowers. What I have not tried to preserve color and increase the amount of ovary, there are countless ways.
Everything continued exactly until my mother's aunt came to visit me. She lived all her life in a small village, had a vegetable garden, a garden and many different cattle. Having learned about a problem that I cannot solve, she silently began to smile. it was a little offensive and at the same time curious, why suddenly there was such condescending fun? Of course, I asked the elderly aunt this question. To which she received the answer that she knows how to help her beloved niece and ordered not to worry in vain, but listen carefully and remember.
And I learned a very simple, but truly miraculous recipe. He helped me out more than once, because since then I don't know what a little ovary is. It turned out that if there is no pollination for some reason, then the ovary is not formed, and the tomatoes shed excess color. After all, he simply is not needed. These plants are considered a self-pollinating crop, meaning they need a little breeze and, voila, a miracle happened! That is, they do not need the help of insects.
Usually, problems with pollination are encountered when planting tomatoes in greenhouses or under film, in greenhouses. There is definitely no wind and pollination is difficult.
Finding out which flower has been pollinated and which is not is quite simple. in a pollinated flower, all the petals go back. If this is not observed, then the plant needs your help.
What do we have to do
Tomatoes and their flowers, as such, do not attract bees and butterflies. therefore, it would be nice to plant some fragrant flowers in the aisles. And aesthetically pleasing and useful. After all, they lure insects (useful) and those, moving from flower to flower, in passing, honor the tomato bushes.
If the seedlings are planted in a greenhouse or greenhouse, then you can create an artificial draft: open the door and the window.
Extreme measures
The process of artificial pollination of tomatoes should be carried out for preventive purposes. It won't get any worse, but you can help this culture.
The last resort is shaking the bush. If the petals stubbornly do not want to be retracted back, you can shake the bush. From this movement, the pollen rises into the air and gets onto other bushes. After the tomatoes have been shaken, it is best to water them. After all, such manipulation is unusual for a plant and can be considered a little stress.
