The projects on the issue involved more than half a million adults with cardiovascular disease, diagnosed in the last 5 years.

Between themselves scientists compared figures 3 groups consisting of patients sleeping per day:

- less than 6 hours;

- more than 8 hours;

- from 6 to 8 hours.

The result was revealed the high risk of CHD (coronary heart disease), and death from the disease, or a stroke, it is associated with lack / excess of daily sleep. At the same time those who are vacationing less than 6 hours, the risk increased by only 11%, but in those who slept longer than 8 hours - all 33%.

It should be noted that the main advantage of the meta-analysis performed by scientists from Greece, is the fact of inclusion in it only prospective studies - that is, those in which physicians themselves observed for the control of human cohorts. And it is possible to avoid the "memory error" caused by a failure in the completeness or accuracy of the memories of past events already.
